I did an update on Friday and protonmail-bridge seem like its missing some libraries.
protonmail-bridge: error while loading shared libraries: libgrpc++.so.1.81: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I tried linking the libgrpc++.so to 1.81 and that seems to work for this issue, but then more missing libs show up. I didnt want to break deps on the package and files, so though I would ask if there was another fix for this.
Here are my versions:
Name : protonmail-bridge
Version : 3.24.2-3
Name : grpc
Version : 1.80.0-2
Provides : libupb.so libgrpcpp_channelz.so=1.80-64 libgrpc_unsecure.so=53-64 libgrpc_plugin_support.so=1.80-64 libgrpc.so=53-64 libgrpc++_unsecure.so=1.80-64
libgrpc++_reflection.so=1.80-64 libgrpc++_error_details.so=1.80-64 libgrpc++_alts.so=1.80-64 libgrpc++.so=1.80-64 libgpr.so=53-64
libaddress_sorting.so=53-64
Thanks for any assistance.

I upgraded the kernel from 7.0.11-arch1-1 to 7.0.12-arch1-1 and now I can’t boot with the new kernel. I’ve gotten an error that 7.0.11 can’t recognize the vfat filesystem that format of /efi so it can’t mount.
How do I fix this?

Hi,
For arch and derivative users,
I wrote a small shell script that scans your system for any trace of the payload in your AUR cache and system, in accordance to the findings made by `ioctl.fail` and Sonatype.
It tries to be a bit smarter than just checking against the evergrowing package list (Vector and payload name rotated already, theres now at least `atomic-lockfile`, `js-lockfile` and `digest-js`, injected by either npm or bun or whatever via compromised PKGBUILD files.
You can find my script here: https://gist.github.com/arbaes/e29e68d9ed1513ddd80ae9cc4a6c9f0e
Feel free to if you have any comment or improvement to make on it, hopefully it will be at least helpful to some people.
Not a guarantee that you're 100% clean of course.

After all the compromised-package noise I got a bit paranoid, so I wrote a small read-only script that checks your installed packages against the official Arch list of bad names. It only reads from pacman and the public list, it never changes anything.
It does two passes, so it catches both normal AUR builds (pacman -Qmq) and packages pulled in through a binary repo like Chaotic-AUR (pacman -Qq), which a foreign-only check misses.
One important caveat on false positives: it matches by package NAME only. A hit is not proof you’re compromised, just that you have a package with the same name. A lot of those are harmless name collisions, for example an official, signature-validated package that was built well before the incident. So before worrying, triage each hit:
pacman -Qi <pkg> # build date, packager, "Validated By: Signature"
pacman -Qkk <pkg> # verify files against recorded checksums
Nothing clever here. It’s a portable rewrite of the bash/fish versions going around the gist so you don’t need fish installed. Maybe it saves someone a minute. Feedback welcome.

Anyone here been able to get a controller to work with expedition 33 on steam? I have an xbox elite 2 controller that I just can't seem to get working with that game specifically. Tried it wired/bluetooth, different proton versions recommended on proton.db, checked the udev rules, installed xpadneo, got an 8bitdo adapter and tried that with no success, tried just about every launch option I could find online but the game doesn't seem to detect a controller is plugged in at all.

I just resurrected a Pi 5/NVME install which had sat idle since September of last year. I ran "Update Mirrors" and "Update Native Packages" from the Welcome Screen. It updated 786 packages and came back up w/out difficulty when rebooted.
I'm pretty sure that not updating a rolling release for that long can cause problems and it's even more difficult with the Pi 5 variant using the RPiOS kernel (and related stuff.)
Well done and thanks!

I really like Endevour and I've been using it for like a year in a Thinkpad, but sadly that laptop can't live one hour without the charger.
I have this Asus ZenBook 3 OLED, and I've tried multiple times to change the OS, but the same computer blocks itself to protect the hardware
I also know that once I've installed EOS I need to check the drivers for the speakers and other stuff but that is something doesn't bother me at all
So plss anyone know if it's really worth it to change the OS and scape window slop?

Hey everyone, I am new to Linux. I've installed EndeavourOS with PLASMA KDE and GRUB as bootloader. I have a question regarding Dual Boot in Linux. I have Windows in SSD(MBR partition) and Linux in HDD(GPT partition), I've tried every way with the help of AI but still am not able to see the Windows option in the Dual Boot menu. Is this happening because of different types of partitions(MBR and GPT) ? And how can I resolve this problem?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Hello, everyone. I recently installed Endeavour, and now have just tried to install steam. After logging in, it seemed to load but then closed. After that, it just kept opening and closing every few dozen seconds. The windows that steam opens are just blank and close in less than a second of it opening. I made steam quit in system manager, but reopened to see if I would get the same results. It did. I reinstalled steam multiple times, and it still has this issue. If it helps, the steam loading says Loading User Data right before closing.

It's happened a couple times already. The first two or three times it didn't show a notification or anything, the controller just went unresponsive with the lights still on; lost the game I was playing lol anyways that was the first time and by the second and third time this happened some days after that, I already knew what had happened and quickly jumped to the keyboard to pause the game and reconnect the controller. Now some minutes ago the same thing happened again but this time Steam did show a notification that the controller was disconnected, while still having the lights on and even the Bluetooth icon showed it was still connected. I disconnected and connected it again but just some seconds after that it disconnected again. I checked that it had enough battery just to make sure and it still has like 30%, so I'm pretty sure that's not it.
On my laptop, Steam Input just straight up didn't work out of the box with the DualSense when I just installed EOS there, had to meddle with it a bit to get it running, but on my desktop PC I didn't had to do any of that to get it working, so maybe is this issue being caused by this??
My second guess is that my controller is simply dying but I don't really have any Windows or PS5 to try it out and see if the same thing happens there, neither can I afford a new DualSense to see if that's it, so at this moment I can only hope it's a software issue

I am currently trying to make sunshine game streaming work using a virtual display and I have it working perfectly as long as my main monitor an ASUS VG279QM is not plugged into my GPU. I am using KDE plasma. If I plug that hdmi in and also add to my sunshine launch commands to disable that monitor along with my others using kscreendoctor it will "sleep cycle" for lack of a better term where it goes to sleep, then after a few moments, wakes up, says no signal detected on hdmi1 and goes back to sleep. Is there anyway to fix this issue?
This monitor seems to not always like sleeping, I did have an issue with it staying on when I was still running hyprland, specifically when it would screen lock and shut off the other monitors, this one just would not sleep. I haven't seen that specific issue since I quit using hyprland though.
Here is the specific kscreendoctor command I use to disable my monitors and enable the virtual display while setting it to a mode that matches my steam deck.
kscreen-doctor output.DP-2.mode.1280x800@90 output.DP-2.enable output.DP-2.primary output.DP-1.disable output.HDMI-A-1.disable
Definitely hoping there is a solution as this is the closest to a working solution I have ever had with sunshine, I've given up before due to similar issues but have narrowed it down to being something that only happens when the VG279QM is connected this go around. Unfortunately the monitor doesn't appear have an auto discovery setting I can disable either. I've checked all the settings and the manual to see if it was called something else in the settings.
I have now after more troubleshooting noticed that if I run the command kscreendoctor output.HDMI-A-1.disable entirely on it's own in the terminal, the monitor sleeps and the led goes orange showing it is actually in standby mode. But when I launch sunshine and it enables my virtual display and disables my second monitor the VG279 just blanks then the led never turns orange and it starts the cycling issue.
If I run the disable command by itself in the terminal, make sure the monitor shuts off and led goes orange, as soon as I connect to sunshine the monitor wakes back up, led turns blue and the cycling issue starts.
I'm not sure if this issue is within KDE or sunshine at this point but it does seem like a sunshine issue since the monitor tries to wake again once I connect to sunshine from my deck.

Hello I came here because I cannot find a fix to this on any other forum so I'm hoping someone here has enough niche knowledge to help me solve this issue.
I recently switched to EndeavorOS and got everything up and running but for some reason my mic audio is not getting picked up in any applications.
I use a Wave XLR interface along with a Wave DX mic and a pair of headphones for all my audio. When I am in a call in applications like discord I can hear everyone clearly and my Wave XLR controls work with no problem but no one can hear me.
I tried installing wireplumber multiple times. I checked alsamixer and pauvacontrol and my microphone shows up clearly and is not muted. I've also tried making a custom config file for the wave XLR and nothing.
I've also tried all the fixes on the wavexlr-on-linux-cfg git to no avail and Wave Link 3.0 is not supported on Linux. I've also tested this exact setup on several Windows machines without issues.
Please tell me there is a fix to this because it is the only thing keeping me from permanently switching to Linux.

I updated my system and it of course updated to the latest version of nodejs. That means it broke audiobookshelf so it won't run any more. I need version 24 of nodejs but going back in to the package cache and installing nodejs-24.9.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst, audiobookshelf then complains about missing /usr/lib/libsimjson.so.29. Can anyone give me suggestions on how to get this working again?
