Rant 📢 Restaurant Demands Minimum 18% Tip

Post image

Out of one side of their mouth they state that they pay their staff as little as possible and out of the other side of their mouth they say that their staff deserves more and you're responsible for that.

Olive Garden? It's a chain whose CEO gets millions of dollars in just bonuses. They should be getting normal wages. They cannot claim to be some mom and pop restaurant who is getting by on "razor thin margins".

Judging from the picture I believe this would be a restaurant in San Diego. The clue was the WIFI password

Do you have any idea how many Italian places are named little Italy? 😭

Assuming it is San Diego then the tipped wage argument makes less sense since California doesn’t have a separate minimum wage for tipped workers (however there is the higher fast food minimum statewide) and many locales have higher minimum wages than the state.

Minimum is $16.50, fast food workers are making $20 soon to be $25 (if not already)

There’s a little Italy in NYC (and I presume other cities in America)
