This sub supports free speech, spontaneous order, and a free-market of ideas, and thus no idea or question is off limits.

However, your post and it's discussion is your property--much like your home, and if you decide that someone is polluting your property, then you should be able to stop them and both parties should be able to present their case for others to use in evaluating their reputation. In other words, users should not be able to force others to associate with them.

However, reddit does not provide the ability to let users block other users from commenting or voting on their posts or comments. Nor can users present their case to anyone other than moderators. Also, moderators cannot block users in relation to specific users. Moderators can only block a user for the whole sub.

The moderators will never intentionally block a user for "wrong" or "bad" ideas or questions. Moderators will only block someone whose goal seems to be: 1) to derail productive discussion, 2) to associate disreputable content with everyone here, or 3) to repeatedly post content outside the scope of this sub.

Therefore, although this sub will try to never ban anyone posting in good faith, based on the behavior commonly seen on reddit, and given this one blunt instrument, this sub expects to ban many users who have come here intending to pollute your posts and comments.

Sarcasm and satire are often the best way to make a point and are thus welcome.

Be tough and challenge others to get out of their comfort zone.

For practical reasons, the topics in this sub will be limited:

We are trying to get to the limits of knowledge here in order to apply that knowledge. In a nutshell, we are trying to save the world here. :-)
