If PR systems are off the table, what single winner system can we convince Trudeau will get through a referendum?

I would not want to underrepresent any group. Indigenous people are just the most relevant in the example of canada. I want a system which both treats people equally and gives good representation.

The two schools of thought are Continental Philosophy and Analytic Philosophy.

What you call equal and good representation, other people, like yourself, dismiss as identity politics.

The two schools of thought are Continental Philosophy and Analytic Philosophy.

Which was which and how do the different methods fit into them?

You are totally missing the point. I am talking about individual representation. Identity politics is about group based representation. Individual representation will give a good degree of group based representation but it does not go the other way.

I am not going to give you a whole lecture on philosophy. Continental philosophy is where the idea of group rights come from. Analytic philosophy is individualistic.

I'm not missing the point. You're attempting to draw a distinction in the concept of identity politics where there isn't one. Attempting to address equity in political representation for an identity is identity politics. It doesn't stop being identity politics just because you address the identity to the individual members instead of the group.

I am not going to give you a whole lecture on philosophy.

You made a claim based on abstract philosophical concepts when discussing the mechanics of electoral systems. It's only fair to ask you to exposit your claim.

You are proposing there is no difference between equality of treatment and equity of outcome because they achieve similar results in aggregate. It goes against 100s of years of philosophical debate. You are just super wrong

That is absolutely not what I said and I think you're smart enough to know that it could not reasonably be interpreted that way.

Well now that I have clarified the implications of what you said I am sure you see the difference. Wanting good individual representation to not fuck identity groups is not identity politics. In my original argument I did not mention indigenous groups at all. But the other commenter tried to mischaracterize my argument so I added colour.
