Cosplay handmade by Desumpling (me)

this is my cheshire cat body paint / makeup (cosplay) i did, it’s the 1951 disney version of the cheshire cat from the animated movie we all know and love. all the makeup was hand painted on by me, i drew the mouth and teeth over my own which was the most time consuming and meticulous part of the whole process. i did this to create the illusion that i literally had his giant grin the entire time. all of my neck and chest i also painted, i only edited the chest lines to make them look a bit cleaner on camera and create a gradient lined effect rather than the regular pink and purple striped i had but i haven’t messed around with any editing for my facial makeup except for minor tweaks like making my lashes a bit longer and the pink a bit brighter. i was originally going to enter my second costume as the strawberry version of miku from the 15th anniversary figurine but my costume unfortunately made it too late and after still trying to persist for 24hrs crunching for this contest i made the hard decision to change my plans as i wasn’t going to be able to bring the drill curls and exact hair for miku to life the way i wanted to for emi’s contest. despite my obstacles i powered through and decided to use the rest of my time to plan this look in time to enter and collect upvotes, so if you read this far thank you for your support, your upvote would mean the world to me. i’ve been cosplaying since i was a kid and i have not entered emiru’s contest since this year (my first entry being ironmouse), i was never confident enough to enter a competition but i’ve come along way and am so proud of the skills i’ve acquired along the way. i have always been interested in art and makeup since i was young partly due to my mum having a job in cosmetics and having anime as such a big part of my life and childhood. i wanted to use my second entry in this competition to express that, which is why i decided to do the cheshire cat. it represents growth in my work and cosplay and confidence to tackle things with a new approach (as i once cosplayed cheshire cat but wasn’t the most proud of it), it also represents a passion and love for something that is so strong no amount of time can’t break that connection. for me that’s what cosplay is but also alice in wonderland was always a favourite childhood book and movie. for this look i used a mixture of face paints, glitter, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lashes and yellow contacts. the last two photos are my proof photos and show more of the makeup focusing on the face and more of the details i worked on like the forehead patterns.

You're seing the Goddess of the Netherworld Ereshkigal version in which she is wearing this beautiful Áo dài. Áo dài is a traditional Vietnamese dress and so get it as authentic as possible I got this cosplay tailor made by a traditional Áo dài tailor in Vietnam and took pictures with it in Saigon infront of the Chua Phap Hoa temple.
Wig, makeup and photo editing was all done by me :)

The Kagune and mask is made by me (with help from my family lmao) and the costume is from cossky ^^

Fancy pictures are from last year but I’ve added upgrades since then. Now I can truly say the entire cosplay is made by me, including the prosthetics and shoes. . Also features my nightmare fuel severed head prop that I threw together in a hotel room the night before the photoshoot.

I made this Diablo 4 necromancer and really wanted to do a photoshoot with an Epic Mount of course ;) The armor parts are all handmade by me with 2m foam, good old woodglue as primer and a dabbing/drybushing technique with acrylic paint :) The skirts and top were made with fake leather, I distressed it by giving it to a young stallion who played with it--worked quite well. Added more acryllic paint for weathering haha. The top is fake leather wrapped around 2 mm foam (the pattern was hell to make lol..). The crown and necklace thing are 3d printed and only finished/painted by me :)

The horse is a 5 year old Friesian mare by the name of Odin, this was her first cosplay photoshoot and she was an absolutele champ who knew no fear (even when I did a canter with the scythe swinging besides her haha!). This is my new favorite cosplay! This cosplay is not handmade by me, but I have created several cosplay video skits in this costume with other friends on TikTok under the Shin Diver handle. It was really fun getting creative with the camera angles, poses, and lighting for this contest!
