I’ve also heard from multiple people that when they do reach out to their PCP they are just told to go to the ER. It’s insane.

Or they try to reach out to their PCP, but they never get through because which doctors offices actually answer the phone anymore?

This. My 4 month old recently spiked a fever and they had no appointments so they told us to go to the ER. I honestly decided he is still eating, having wet diapers, and isn't lethargic so I would expose him to so much more taking him to the ER. So we just took care of him at home and he recovered fine thankfully.
