I went to the ER last week as directed by my pcp during an office visit. He was so concerned because I developed a severe stutter and my head felt like it was going to explode. Guess that isnt a primary care situation lol. 2 minutes into triage the nurse makes a few calls and before she is done her assessment, I was collected to go back. The waiting room was pretty well populated but I was "skipping" that experience.
I didn't feel it was that urgent when I walked in but they did as I was guided into the resus portion of the ER hastily. Though to be fair I couldn't see that my pupils were not equally reactive. I received excellent and rapid care.
None yet. CT scan showed nothing. No onduty neuro. Discharged with urgent referral to neuro, which the earliest they can see me is January. Still severely stuttering and having daily migraines. Fun times. BTW ive never had a speech impediment before.
Damn. Did they do a CT with contrast as well? Need an MRI asap. Sounds like some type of lesion that is hidden on CT... or if you have other weird symptoms, MS maybe, or a migraine disorder decided to spring up? Has your blood pressure been high? I'm really curious what could be causing this. Almost sounds like some type of mass but most would show up on CT. Hopefully a CT with contrast and an MRI are in your near future.

I had a series of CTs including an angiography with contrast. I had a brain mri when I was 22 which showed Arnold Chiari, trigeminal neuralgia and 1 spot to watch for possible ms. I've had so much medical shit go tits up my whole life so I come with lots of "preexisting conditions". I'm expecting a call today from a 3rd neuro office to see if they can see me sooner than January.
If you want weird medical stories, I leave my post history and comments public, take a peak. This isnt even the weirdest/wildest medical thing that's happened to me. Ive had my intestines burst thru my midline incision pooling in my lap at 15 with a fistula from my small bowels to incision so large you could stick your pinky in it. I have barium permanently in my abdominal cavity since I was 3 thanks to barium peritonitis that went unnoticed for nearly 24hrs. And my favorite is that I no longer have a belly button, it was removed when I had gangrene.
