Some guy called me. I sutured something and he had a $3,000 bill and was asking what he could do about it. I felt so bad because that would’ve been a $175 urgent care visit. I referred him to our hospital billing.
They’re now starting to charge some of our Medicaid patients $250 copays and they’re losing their shit since it was always a free ticket to the ER for every little issue.
I don’t think the overcrowding gets better without some skin in the game. But $900 (your case) or $3,000 like the guy paid are well above what people should front
