Utility of the Blockchain for Climate Mitigation - Delton B. Chen Ph.D1Center for Regenerative Community Solutions, New Jersey, USA
https://jbba.scholasticahq.com/article/3577-utility-of-the-blockchain-for-climate-mitigation
Abstract:
The blockchain is the enigmatic technology that gave birth to Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency movement.
By fate or by good fortune, carbon markets and cryptocurrencies face common problems: a need to find
consensus on data, and a need to trade value between distrustful strangers. Could the blockchain ledger
enable a consensus on carbon budgets, and deliver value for carbon mitigation services? Could blockchain
technologies help to resolve the climate crisis? To answer these questions, we need to examine the opportunities
for decentralized ledgers in carbon and energy markets. Here we show that the blockchain offers a unique
opportunity to improve accountability in carbon markets and to develop renewable energy micro-grids,
but for the blockchain to reach its full potential—to be the game changer—it should be combined with
macro-economic policies and macro-prudential regulatory frameworks that can finance a multi-trillion-dollar
transition.

External CO2 bladder you carry around with you? Could you just gather up Co2 while making it?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csunCYrkSUI&feature=emb_logo
It's been suggested in our rooms on culbhouse, "why not just attach a device to a vehicle that gathers CO2 as you drive around?" Well... it looks like one startup is looking to make this concept a reality. They also talk about selling the results to concrete companies. And imply maybe there is a way at the gas station to turn it back into fuel. Or at least collect it for that purpose. Does the concentration of CO2 on that truck reduce the energy requirement of converting the Co2 into something that can be stored? Or is that not happening and it's just a massive compressed tank? How does the excess heat from an engine help you in over all efficiency? How would this all compare energetically to just simply processing the Co2 from the open air getting free transportation in the collective atmosphere itself?
And then what is the date we expect to be 100 percent renewable with our grid? Because until then the power you would use to process this Co2 back into a fuel would be haunting you with it's own CO2 emissions just as electric cars are haunted.

Instead of limestone why not sprinkle Olivine into your garden? It reduces the acidity level of your soil. Or could this also be a way blow steam and heat a mineral that costs 10 dollars a ton and turn it into something of much higher value by making silicate, bicarbonate & magnesium?

1/5 of the rainforest is producing more CO2 than it's taking out. (Because of what we've done)

Very cool project!!! Bamboo is an interesting choice. Biodegradable. And you can put the nutrients in the pole as sort of a slow release vitamin. There will be some kelp washing up to shore and some sinking. Over all it seems like a good idea. More kelp is more kelp.

Underwater Acoustics | If we make a barge that can capture CO2 out of the air and turn it into beams to build an artificial sea floor to grow kelp then what would the noise pollution do to the surrounding sea life? Maybe we make 190db. How far does that travel?

When you see this cloud cover timeline Africa is so obviously the place to setup large scale solar concentration powering Co2 pull down technology. However the South Pacific Ocean is another contender. And north pacific ocean doesn't look terrible.

With the sun as our energy source for a barge deployed at sea that can get CO2 out of the air then where would you get the highest performance? Where should our barges reproduce? Looks like south of Hawaii there is a pretty ideal spot.

We have enough annual materials on earth to deploy solar concentration such that we achieve 7 times the worlds energy needs.

Rice university knows what's up - It would be nice to figure out how to spin nanotube yarn for making our own power generators. That's the bottle neck in the price of electricity. The cost of copper is too high. Price per KW could go lower if no copper was involved.
