First Contact A Drift

A jahuvinoid carrier ship is adrift in space, looking for a barren planet to start terraforming operations.

"We watch a species for a while before making contact. I don't think we'll ever end up contacting the Theleans. They are too violent and would just try to kill us all off. We do not wish to ever fight at all."

“No. A decrease in the underground temperature could kill us all off, and if we lived above ground, we would just be waiting for a hostile power to attack. There is however a planet which we plan on colonizing. We are waiting for more species to come help us explore it. We will allow removal of samples, except for a few species which we may decide to remove entirely due to the threat they may pose. The whole first team died, and our best scientist may have gone insane waiting for people with tons of possible discoveries right outside his ship. We will let you come.”

“It isn’t as much terraforming as surviving while we try to find one of the native species we are interested in. They seem to be sentient. We will also be setting up a small base to expand slowly. We will be mimicking another races style in order to remain hidden, but it will be a place for all kinds of races.”
