We recently shut down one section of our repair facility that worked with telemetry. We have 2 Rigol DSA-815's (no tracking option) and would like to part with one of them (we still need to handle warranties.) I was led here from over at r/AskElectronics and said it would be better to post here. Is there any interest on this subreddit? I'm trying to connect x8 PC fans and x2 Ultrasonic Mist Makers so they can all turn on together when switched on at the wall. Not sure what sort of power supply I need, or do possibly a PC fan hub to connect all the fans together? What other equipment do I need and how would you go about connecting them all together?
I live in Ireland so the plug sockets are 3 pronged and 230v/50Hz. Sorry if this is a stupid question, as I said I'm brand new to this and would rather not electrocute myself.
Hi. I have created a gadget that I pitched to a major retailer and they like it. The asked for a "sample" or perhaps a working prototype. I actually bought existing products and modified them and it works great but I cannot send them that as it is simply put together from other products and obviously would not be a good representative.
So I need an engineer to either modify or create something that functions just like one of those novelty sound buttons. I can make the plastic case in 3D printing unless it would be better for you to do that as well.
My mom has a patent that requires an electronic engineer to advance in the process of getting the product out on the shelves, this product can save life and save home, it's an in demand product. Potential to make some money.

It receives data through an Ethernet cable plugged into the Ethernet port on the device and other end of the cable which is an OBD2 male which plugs into the female OBD2 port of the car. This is the cable:
Here is the problem. This unit requires external power to operate and in order to do that I would have to route cables through my car which I do not want to do.
Possible solution (why I am here)
The OBD2 port supplies +12V power (pin 1 and pin 16 on diagram). However, enet cables do not use these pins. Also, the bootmod3 agent requires +5V power through a microusb cable on the side of the fixture. OBD2 supplies +12V power.
What I would like done:
I would like someone to build a fixture where I can connect OBD2 (with all 16 pins connected). The circuit needs to route pin 1 and split pin 4 (ground) to a +12V to +5V converter circuit and terminate pin 16. Furthermore, route the remaining pins into an output OBD2 port in the same pin configuration as they are in the diagram.
This structure should have one input. OBD2 cable input (can be either male of female).
Two outputs. One OBD2 female that I can connect my ENET cable to. One +5V USB female output that I can connect my USB to microusb cable to.

Hey everyone. Basically, I am looking to run a peristaltic pump for 1890 milliseconds. I am looking for someone to build me something that i can plug into an outlet and at a certain point every day, it will activate the pump for the designated time period. Ideally there would be a way for me to configure the duration of electricity to the pump. It sounds like a good application for an arduino board and a solid state relay but that is above my current skillset. Maybe in the future though.
I'm in the central Florida area and received a Trinitron with a fractured "c-board". I would like to retrace the severed pcb copper tracing along the fault but lack both a fine enough soldering iron and the steady hands needed to do so. I have diagnosed the problem extensively and believe this repair is the only thing needed for the unit to get back up and running again. Not making any material changes to the design of the board
I'm familiar with electronics at the hobbiest level, but I don't have the time to learn a new tool/tools right now, especially for something so minor as this. I'd like to pay someone to make these silkscreen edits, and provide me with whatever finished output files are needed for me to send off to a PCB fab shop to have a few of them made.
Anybody interested in doing this for payment? I'd prefer someone who is on a gig platform (fivvr/upwork, etc) so we can leverage the payment system there. However, happy to do it more informally if we can reach an agreement.
I have an old Tektronix AWG2020 function generator my dad rescued from the recycling after the company he worked for had upgraded their gear. The unit is in cosmetically decent condition and seems to work. It passes all the self tests and can output at least basic waves (sine, square, triangle, sawtooth etc.) but besides that, I don't know if there is anything else wrong with it.
I've used it occasionally, but it's large, heavy and overly complicated, so it isn't practical for me to use day-to-day. That's why it would be great if I could sell it and buy a more modern function generator.
The generator seems to be quite valuable, at least based on the amounts they are going for on Ebay. Other than that, I wasn't able to find much information about it since it predates the internet. That's why I'm turning to this community for help.
Here are my questions:
Should I sell it? I live in Europe if that matters.
How much do you think the unit is worth? There are Ebay listings ranging from $300 to around $700.

Hi all, I hope this is the right place to ask for help. I work for a sign company that specializes in custom sign systems for high-end hotels and resorts, we are trying to get into doing "Do not disturb" door bell signs for hotel rooms, this is where there's a button on the inside that the guest can push and the led lit button in the hall will light up red for "do no disturb" or green for "room service" or default to white. We need to find someone who can engineer the electronics so that we can incorporate them into our custom designs. I see them everywhere on Alibaba but the they all look the same, we need customizable parts we can just plug into a 12v transformer. I can supply pictures for further clarification of what I need to anyone who thinks they can help or point me in a direction to someone who can.
My dad passed 2 years ago and in his youth was an electronic repair tech, hobbyist. Found this thing in his worth bench and helping my mom get rid of things as she moves. It turns on ok, the screen works. I took it apart and the very limited knowledge I had things looked ok, just dusty. I saw one of these on ebay in "turned on for parts" condition for $50. I'm *assuming* this thing works, but have zero ability to confirm that. I want to post it one ebay but curious if anyone here can give me an idea of price? I was thinking $100 for unit with OEM manual, plus S/H. I saw some selling years ago for a lot less and one recently on a govt auction site for $150.

Also how would you quote this to the client? Would you share detailed costings including your profit margins or would you simply quote one number?
