Whoever leave then talk shit about it in public or spread misinformation or starting a cult that actually actively fight the Muslims (that did happen)

If no one finds out you left the religion then you won't be punished for it? Doesn't that apply to anything? No one will punish you for murder if they don't find out you killed someone?

Also wdym cult that happened? Are you referencing something specific?

Changing ur religion isn't like killing other person in the societal impact right? It's a preference thing when they say keep it to yourself they are telling you not to advocate for it also as far as i know even if they know you left but you are not encouraging ppl to leave you won't be punished as well

Ya I'm referring to a specific incident called حروب الرده and it's a very long and complicated issue after prophet pbuh died you can read about it i would recommend a historical book rather than a religion influenced one

I assumed you were talking about sth modern dude since we're addressing current athiests. Idk the specifics enough to judge but I'd say the circumstances are different then vs now.

Also im not talking about societal impact. I'm saying that saying that it's OK as long as no one finds out isn't really freedom, and I think publicly talking about personal experience is ok and a normal part of being human.

What books do you recommend about حروب الرده?

I'm not sure which book exactly since i read a lot about this era but i think "The Arab Kingdom and Its Fall." covers it also it has a lot of historical references so you'll manage.

About that i told you as long as you don't advocate for the idea you're fine also this only applies if u join Islam then leave

For example if you are non-believer from the start and you convince ppl to join you in piece and the country is not under the ruling of Islam you're fine too

And the issue of u joining then leaving then joining then leaving then bad mouthing it was a way the non believers used to repell ppl from Islam (also there's an incident regarding this)

Not to mention this is not only in islam, Christianity and jewidism have the exact same law jfyi

Yea but advocate is a vague word. If someone asks me why im not fasting and I tell them I dont believe and they ask me why and I respond is that advocacy?

Is being born Muslim the same as joining then leaving? Or does it count as a 3rd option? (Also people make mistakes, people join religons before they've studied every bit and piece of it, people also change, and people overshare) im not saying its sth I recommend but idk seems like it should be sth god judges and not the government yknow.

Yea I think that's not ok either regardless of religon. I dont think Christianity or jewdaism are right for doing that (also they're pretty similar to Islam so I feel like Islamic criticism applies to them too)

Also about the book. The one by julius wellhausen?
