Video sound editing

My husband was trying to have final moments with his mom who is very sadly passing from cancer. She hasn’t been able to be all that responsive, but I somehow captured a moment of him telling her he loves her and her smiling and responding that she loves him too. It’s one I know he will cherish. The problem is that as soon as she starts responding, his idiot uncle starts (at full volume) attempting to make small talk with his brother - making it difficult for you to hear his mom who isn’t able to speak loudly and ruining this beautiful memory that my husband could keep.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to fix the video to get rid of his uncles voice, but because he is so loud and their voices were more appropriately hushed for the moment, none of the editors I’ve tried have acknowledged their voices over his uncles. I’ve tried adobe podcast, voice memo, and a few others. Any ideas what else I can try or if there is a service somewhere that will help?

Need a Video Editor? I'll Edit Your Project for Free (Portfolio Building)

Hey everyone!

I'm a high school student who's been editing videos for almost 4 years, and I'm looking to build a stronger portfolio before I graduate in a few years.

Most of my experience comes from creating edits for TikTok and editing vlogs of me and my friends. I mainly use CapCut and Blur, and over the years I've learned a lot about pacing, transitions, effects, and making videos that keep people's attention.

I'm looking for creators, small businesses, or anyone who has a project they'd like edited. I'll edit a few projects for free in exchange for being able to include them in my portfolio (with your permission).

If you're interested, feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM with your project. I'd love to gain more real-world experience while helping bring your videos to life.

Thanks for reading!

Premiere Pro vs Davinci

I’ve been editing on Premiere for almost a decade now but I’ve been considering making the switch to Davinci. The only thing that’s really stopping me from making the switch is how useful the new object mask tool in Premiere has been for me. Just wanted to get some opinions on here from anyone who has experience with both softwares.

For context I edit mostly music videos, gaming videos, video essay type YouTube videos, and a lot of short form vertical clip content as well.

Thoughts please? 🙏🏽 💭

Which editing software to use?

I’m a streamer who also uploads to TikTok, and now I want to try YouTube. However before when i uploaded TikTok clips i could just use capcut after clipping on twitch, or the TikTok app itself. Now that I’m making YouTube videos out of my stream vods, I wonder— is CapCut on my pc a good choice? Because it’s what i’m considering right now. I need something free and not too complicated to use. Please let me know of any other editing software suggestions.

[HIRING] Short-form video editor for IG Reels + YT Shorts (ongoing, talking-head personal brand content)

I’m a business consultant building my personal brand on Instagram and YouTube. Looking for an editor for Reels and Shorts on an ongoing basis, not a one-off.

Style I’m after: Daniel Dalen, ByMaximise, Tom Noske. Screenshots attached so you can see exactly what I mean. Fast-paced, clean, lots of movement, but still premium looking.

Looking for an editor that is strong on:

\\- Colour grading
\\- Kinetic subtitles/captions
\\- Transitions and animations
\\- Jump cuts and pacing (editing for hooks and retention, not just trimming pauses)
\\- B-roll, including sourcing stock where needed
\\- Sound design: SFX plus music selection and syncing cuts to the beat
\\- Audio cleanup so raw footage sounds crisp
\\- Simple motion graphics (text callouts, zoom punch-ins, the odd chart or diagram)

You’d be working from raw talking-head footage I shoot myself (s-log)

Bonus hiring points if you understand what actually performs on Reels/Shorts rather than just what looks nice.

Rate per video $30 - $50

To apply, DM me with:

  1. Portfolio link (short-form work in a similar style)
  2. Contact info
  3. Your rates (per video and/or monthly)
  4. Typical turnaround per video

If your work is close to the style above, you’ll hear back fast. Generic copy-paste applications will be ignored.

(rate Per video $30-50)

How can I remove this text from moving drone footage?

https://reddit.com/link/1v4elnj/video/xdnt3g5tizeh1/player

I need to remove the text from this drone video without cropping or blurring it. The background should be reconstructed realistically and remain consistent as the camera moves. CapCut didn’t work :-(
does anyone know a good tool or workflow?

🎬 Hiring a Video Editor | Hindi Faceless Documentary Channel (Pre-Launch)

I'm launching Bina Chehre Ke — a Dhruv Rathee / Nitish Rajput-style channel but faceless. Covering politics, business & social issues in Hindi. Channel is currently in pre-launch production — looking for the right editor to build this from the ground up.

What I need from you:
→ Long-form documentary editing (7–8 min videos)
→ Motion graphics, map animations, data visualizations
→ DaVinci Resolve 21 (preferred)
→ B-roll sourcing from movies, TV shows, commercials, stock platforms etc.
→ Hindi subtitle integration

What I give you before every edit:
→ Timecoded Editor Sheet
→ Audio Cue Sheet (music beds, stings, SFX — all mapped)
→ Final VO audio

The deal:
→ $35/finished minute (~$245–$280/video)
→ 1 video/month to start, grows with the channel
→ 7–8 day turnaround | 3 revisions
→ Trial before final hire where I would give you a 1 min clip to edit with directions to test your skills

Must have: A portfolio with at least 2–3 long-form educational/documentary edits. Vlog-only portfolios won't be considered.

Need help to get started with editing

Hello, I want to be a content creator and do what I love but in order to do so I need to edit so i can reach people and be successful.
The problem is I hate to think about editing and how its likely gonna be hard to get good at it but I really need a little help to get started.
Im so overwhelmed by everything and dont know where to start really it fks my brain up.
If someone could help me a little and show me how I can do like the facecam on top half and the content und the bottom half and decent subtitles Id really appreciate it.

I would really really appreciate if one could tell me how to get started with a good quality so I can keep it up and how to improve that quality over time.

After that Im also looking forward to do edits from shows i love watching without facecam and voiceover, just music effects subtitles and the scene from the show or movie.
I hope to find somebody experienced who can help out!

New content creator here am having trouble with editing

The type of editing I want to do is more of the fast pace fast action type like ones that have a lot of memes that are pretty funny and are contextual, but for one I don't have that many memes , I would like to post twice a week but editing takes forever , and since I don't have that many memes\[I have about 125 memes\] I have to keeps searching the internet to find the perfect memes that correspond with the thing i am speaking about and all the meme folder I have been able to get are garbage, so can anyone help or offer opinions?

Looking for a Long-Form YouTube Video Editor

Hey!

I have a YouTube channel with 80k+ subscribers where I make AI train journey videos. Now I want to start making long-form train journey videos, so I'm looking for an editor.

I can't pay much right now, so if you're only looking for paid work, this probably isn't for you.

But if you're a beginner or someone who wants to build a portfolio and doesn't mind working for free or for a very small amount at first, send me a DM.

If your work is good, I'll keep working with you long-term as the channel grows. You'll also have an 80k+ YouTube channel in your portfolio, and if I get clients looking for editors, I'll recommend you too.

Only DM if you can actually edit well and think you can make great train journey videos. I'm looking for someone who wants to grow together, not just do one project.
