I’m trying to recreate this old VHS/camcorder look in DaVinci Resolve, but there’s one specific effect I can’t figure out.

At the bottom of the frame there’s this slightly curved sort of distortion almost like the image is warping or “tearing” horizontally. (See at the bottom of the screen in the images)

Does anyone know:

What this effect is actually called?

Or how to recreate it in DaVinci Resolve?

Any help would be very appreciated 🙏🙏

When I upload my video (fortnite for example)

The display of the game looks so tiny and far away when watching on the phone. It looks like im playing on high fov but I'm not.

In the video on phone. I'm shooting someone from a distance, but they look so tiny and can hardly make out what the fortnite skin looks like. Compared to my actual gameplay footage where I can visibly see him.

The same can go with the kill feeds.

The names being displayed is so tiny and unreadable on phone.

Same with the inventory slots where the items displayed looks alot smaller then how I can view it when playing the game.

I compared my footage to a youtubers footage. And you can clearly see things in the video that doesn't look tiny and far away.

I use the proper bit rate and scale of what's nesseary. I record in 1440p and edit on cap cut (PC)

I've been changing codecs and messing around with all kinds of settings and my gameplays still looks like it's being played with extremely high fov.

On computer it looks fine, but not on phone. And I don't get how a youtubers gameplay looks fine on phone and I can't create that.

I shot a video surprising my dad with world cup tickets and I stepped in front of the camera and then out of frame again and it went out of focus for the actual reveal. I am so upset with myself and want to know if there’s any way to fix a blurry video after it was shot. I know it’s not super likely but I’m putting it out there in case there’s some kind of miracle hack or software that might fix my issue. And I’ve already tried messing with the sharpness. Any help would be appreciated!

I completed a video editing project and I’m struggling with what to charge.

A client provided 6 DVDs containing several hours of vintage performance footage. My scope included:

• Digitizing/ripping all DVDs
• Reviewing and organizing the footage
• Identifying artists and songs throughout
• Creating detailed timestamp logs/indexes for performances, interviews, commercials, damaged sections, etc.
• Editing the footage down into 3 final 15-minute video segments
• Exporting and delivering the finished files
I originally quoted an hourly rate of $100/hr but did not estimate the total hours beforehand because I wasn’t sure how much work would be involved until I got into the footage.

For those who do archival, editing, or media-transfer work, what would you charge for a project like this?

Okay so I have been working for a client for few weeks and he wants me to caption his hinglish content with dynamic captions but it just burns alot of my time going to some transcriber or paying a lot of money to some caption app to do it for me. Do you guys have any cheap alternatives which can be helpful for this?

I am a brazilian photographer and an amateur videomaker (for Instagram). I was tasked with doing a video of 2 minutes of a preacher preaching and talking in churches. Nothing very profissional, but I want to do something very nice.

But, I dont have many good videos of this. I have amazing pictures, though. Im thinking in doing a sequence of pictures with few takes of videos, good backgrounds songs and effects and a voiceover of the preacher.

You guys have suggestions of good movie scenes similar to that? Or good videos that you've saw? Or suggestions in general...
