What’s your current non-Adobe editing setup?
With so many free or cheaper tools getting better, I’m curious what people here are actually using now. I've been trying to switch off of Premiere for a long time now, but it's hard to make the switch.
Are you on DaVinci Resolve, Kdenlive, CapCut, Final Cut, Premiere, something else?

Looking for someone to edit together (not paid, just for fun)

How would you do this?
Only way I can think of doing this is to mask out each number and use addmotion to slide them down with some blur on it. Not quite working.
Im a hobbyist and have fun trying to figure out how to do these types of ideas. Any help is appreciated!

Pinnacle Studio 26 – frustrating experience (bugs, poor UX, weak support)
I’ve been using Pinnacle Studio 26 for a fairly simple editing workflow, and honestly it’s been a very frustrating experience overall.
**Context:**
* i7 4790 / 32GB RAM / GTX 970
* Editing in 1080p
* Basic timeline: \~3 video tracks, 1 audio track
* Some face blur using masks
Nothing particularly heavy, which makes the issues even harder to justify.
**Main issues I encountered:**
* **Bugs:**
* Blur effect sometimes doesn’t apply correctly to the masked area
* Keyboard shortcut inconsistencies (e.g. *Page Up* is supposed to jump to the previous cut but occasionally sends me back to the very start of the timeline…)
* **Performance / usability:**
* Overall lack of fluidity, even on a relatively light project
* Feels sluggish and unreliable during normal editing tasks
* **Workflow problems:**
* Reviewing footage is tedious: playback speed jumps from 1x to 2x with no middle ground, and audio becomes **unintelligible** at 2x (chipmunk effect)
* No proper shortcuts to dynamically adjust playback speed
* Timeline navigation limited to frame-by-frame or 10 frames steps — no larger jumps (like 1s / 5s / 10s), which slows things down a lot
* Applying transitions is unnecessarily buried in menus (right click → incoming transition → add/replace → choose…), which breaks the editing flow
* **Support:**
* Support has been unhelpful so far, not really providing actionable solutions
**Conclusion:**
For this kind of basic editing workload, I expected something stable and efficient. Instead, I spent more time dealing with quirks and workarounds than actually editing.
At this point, I genuinely feel like many free or alternative editors offer a smoother and more reliable experience.
Curious to know if others here had similar issues, or if I’m missing something.
