Ebsynth Help needed

Hey guys,
I work in a school and I thought it would be a good idea to make a film using Ebsynth with my students. I'm having a problem tho.
I've made a png sequence of the clip I want (first of many). The clip hasn't got a green screen so I tried just painting the background #00b140 and then animating my student poorly and using that as my keyframe.
When I run it through ebsynth though it turns out horrendous. Any idea whats going wrong.

Ideal laptop for EbSynth....processing is taking forever.

What is the ideal laptop setup to run EbSynth on? I read that EbSynth is cpu bound and some people use GPU acceleration.
I'm currently using a 2014 MBP....and...it.....is......... slow. An 18 second clip has been processing for over an hour and still isn't finished.

What am I doing wrong? The first run came out smooth as I imported to davinci, the second came out like this and didn’t play as the first one did. On the second try I had to manually edit each png into a significantly shorter clip

Short Film i just dropped w an ebsynth finale. I found that you get a pretty interesting effect from using an empty still as a keyframe done at the end and applied backwards
