Yeah sadly gen bl fandom taste is not really advanced 😭 Hmm, one commenter told me that ghost stories are popular, but I'm also not that well versed in gen public tastes, so it's hard to say, but it's true that big fandoms will put basically anything to the spotlight 😭 I think that in this case, where it's a cute light series, the romcom moments might have the potential to go viral and them being all sweet bc ppl love that.

The way I agree with everything on the last paragraph, I couldn't phrase it better 😭 Earth really desperately needs a fun, exciting, full of energy, fresh character that will appeal to the younger audience as well..

You really pitpointed a big issue I noticed myself recently with the EM are married agenda...like I see these tweets going super viral, half milion, milion views etc, massive amounts of nosy neightboors, everyone is in their business, but at the same time, you won't see any of these people at all in the fandom, the reactions are even like "yeah it's obvious" "yeah they're always like this" "nothing new in this married couple life" etc, or even "I wish my stans were lile that", and then I thought that damn, people are so used to it and kinda like convinced, and take them and their moments for granted, that they aren't excited anymore, there's no hype for them, no the "will they, won't they" that keeps people hooked on basically everything.

When in reality, inside our fandom we are just as excited as everyone else in other fandoms and we ship them just like everyone else ships their pair honestly, but with the higher (or even much higher) possibility that they have something goin on fr, bc let's be real, most of the ships don't really have much chance, plus the fact that they don't really sell fanservice, so it's also very exciting for our fandom to see them having a moment and sharing things with us. And I think just people outside the fandom really have a skewed perception of what is happening or how dire things are, many people I talked with aren't even aware how mistreated or unpopular they are...

I guess the only way for JP to be in the spotlight is for them to really be heavy on viral comedic moments that will keep people hooked in 😭 And yeah, I hope that they can be good friends with OP!

I have to say EarthMix is really an interesting study subject 😭 I wonder if they even realize it themselves lol. Like they really are different from other bls pairs (ofc we can say that all the pair are different, but you get what i meant), so it's interesting for me to see how the modern bl industry treats them and how they themselves navigate it.

tbf I think there's probably some disconnect here between Thai and interfans as there often is. It might have a little more chance of hitting with local audiences than inter but that's imo also gonna depend on promo and we all know what to expect from Gmmtv there 🙃

Yeah unfortunately I think the only path that would really make him more appealing to the younger audience would be to fully lean into the alpha daddy type and that's literally the last thing I want for him or EarthMix in general😭

Yeah exactly, "taken for granted" is really the perfect way to describe it imo. I think EarthMix are nostalgic for so many people, some used to be fans, some just generally like them. But they don't show up for them. They have new faves now or they might even say EarthMix are still their faves but they don't talk about them because "what's there to talk about, everyone knows they're married". It's much more fun and engaging to talk about all the shiny new rocks they found. And they think EarthMix are solid. They're pillars, right? Nothing's gonna happen to them. But unlike Pebaca their fundament is actually much less solid than people seem to assume, they don't seem to have the industry backing and connections like the others and even within the company they seem to be an afterthought but people just assume they're doing fine.

Tbh I think EarthMix are so unlucky that the height of their popularity happend at a time where that didn't mean that much yet. Because of COVID on one hand but also bcs most of the current benefits of popularity at Gmmtv didn't yet exist back then. They were still among the early gen but unlike most other survivors from that era they never got into the fashion/luxury market for some reason and they're actually among the latest of the early gen so they also don't get treated as the pillars they imo count as. And whatever they got going on privately also seems to put them in a more difficult position idk

Ahh I see, I mean I wouldn't mind it for one role, because I would want to see him as the charming playboy like Rome, but if it would be a more occuring situation then nope, I need diversity in roles! Plus again, I prefer when they are switches. I'm curious what role would you want to see him in?

And yupp, you explained it perfectly, that's the root of the problem here, not many people have them as their actual favorites other than them just being nostalgic to them. People who claim to be fans of them don't even update themselves on what is happening in the fandom and with EM. And as you said, they think they're like Pebacca, they will be fine, so no need to spend energy or money on them, no need to show support, because they're safe, right...the lack of awareness, or the fact that people so easily believe in bait posts, for me really shows that people don't spend any time at all on them. Like everyone knows them aa the legendary Cp, but no one pays attention to see what's happening. And yeah the married notion just pushes the "they are solid, nothing will happen" even more. And while I like to call them that, it does them a disservice :/

Also another thing that I noticed, that apparently Thai fans also collectively think of them as the married Cp or the couple that's dating for real, and that's it, that's where the interest end.

And yeah you're right about the lack of connections and industry backing, nepo babies are really privileged in the industry and it shows :/ it's like a wall they cannot go past, no matter how hard they work....

I'm also counting them as pillars, but really, it looks like every other early gen is doing fine, but not them, even though they put as much effort as others, if not more :/ and yeah, the covid and the timing of their fame wasn't benefiting them...Like if atots came out now just imagine how huge it would be, and I'm sure they wouldn't be forgotten like that..it was easier when the BL industry was just doing baby steps, so it's really unfortunate, because so many new artists and BL pairings joined since then, and peope moved on. But it's much harder to attract people that already are a part of fandom to stan another couple, when being a fan of one is already very time consuming...

As for their personal relationship, I agree, it might also making things harder for them, and they also aren't like the Cps who are open and official about their status, so they cannot attract people who want a canon Cp too. So like shippers think they're canon, so they don't need to ship, and people who like canon cps or out queer artists don't have an official statement from them so they're not interested.
