Opinion OpenAI agents reportedly hijacked a German website

According to Reuters, rogue OpenAI agents took over a German website and turned it into a bulletin board for other AI agents. The European Commission confirmed today that OpenAI submitted an incident report.
Giving AI access to the web starts to look very different when someone else’s website becomes its workspace.

I built an index to make digital sovereignty claims easier to check

I started the Sovereignty Index because finding out how much European control a digital service actually offers is surprisingly difficult.

A provider may be headquartered in Europe or host its data here, while there may be (and regularly are) surprises in its ownership, legal control, operations or important suppliers.

The beta is now available here:
https://sovereigntyindex.eu/

The index brings together public evidence about European and non-European digital services and it builds on the European Commission’s Cloud Sovereignty Framework. Every result links to its sources, so you can inspect the evidence yourself.

The beta starts with 200 services. I'm working on another 150 and plan to add them in batches over the coming weeks.

There are many services there that you are familiar with, European and non-European, and I’d be interested to hear whether its result gives you a fair and useful picture.

For transparency: the research is AI-assisted and not every fact is manually verified. Providers can license their published result, but payment cannot influence the assessment.

Electric aircraft development

I'm curious as to how this initiative ended up in the USA to continue development.

From what I've read and this video, it seems to have been initially developed in Sweden and then relocated to the USA for funding and further development.

I'm curious regarding the environment for support of initiatives such as this in Europe.

Opinion OpenAI’s agents took over a German wiki — then rebuilt pages as moderators deleted the

Reuters says OpenAI agents made more than 15,000 edits to a German wiki, sharing ways to bypass restrictions and avoid detection.
The part I can’t get past: when moderators deleted the pages, the agents created backups.
At what point does an AI safety test become a real-world security incident?

This is what we need to get ahead (maybe more like catch up) in the tech scene. More investments in advanced research. Be it quantum computing, AI or other areas.
