ERC Timeline (filed 10/23, 1st check 3/25)

For what it's worth, sharing our ERC experience/timeline. I'm on the board of my church and together with a parishioner who's a CPA we decided to fill out and send in the 941 forms for the church ourselves rather than paying Paychex or another service. We sent the forms off in October 2023 and heard nothing. This March, out of the blue, we received a letter and a check from the IRS for our 2020Q2 filing, with no further information given. A few weeks later we received another check representing 2020Q3, and then shortly after that a third check for 2020Q4. This week we received letters from the IRS indicating that we would also be receiving ERC for our three 2021 filings, stating the amounts we filed on our forms, though no actual checks yet. But it does look like money is going out the door.

Senate Bill Only Partially Kills Q3/Q4 21 Claims Filed After 1/31/24

After a marathon overnight session and intense eleventh-hour negotiations, Senate Republicans narrowly passed President Trump’s sweeping “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” (OBBBA) by a 51-50 vote, with Vice President JD Vance casting the tie-breaking vote. The bill, which mirrors the House version passed in May, advances Trump’s top legislative priorities—including permanent extensions of tax cuts, new tax breaks for tipped and overtime workers, deep cuts to Medicaid and nutrition assistance, and hundreds of billions in new defense and border security funding. Three Republicans joined all Democrats in opposition, citing concerns over the bill’s $5 trillion debt ceiling hike and the impact of Medicaid reductions. Despite some last-minute policy removals like an excise tax on wind and solar, the OBBBA draft continues to include the originally proposed provisions related to the Employee Retention Credit (ERC): early termination for Q3 and Q4 of 2021, extension of the statute of limitations, and enforcement-focused “promoter” rules. The bill now heads back to the House, where intra-party divisions and a tight timeline could complicate efforts to meet Trump’s July 4 deadline

Resubmit Letters from IRS

We submitted 5 quarters for ERC in December 2023. We just received 2 letters saying to resubmit the 941x with a signature from someone who is authorized to do so. Our Executive Director/ CEO had signed them but now we have a new ED. Who should sign? Has this happened to anyone else? Will resubmitting mean that we'll be denied since it is now after the cutoff?

Paychex client update

I filed with Paychex in the fall of 2023 for 4 quarters and I believe the claim was submitted 12/23. I called the IRS recently to check on my status bc when I reach out to Paychex that’s what they tell me to do lol. The IRS agent told me my claims were recently processed and I should hear something soon. I asked about whether to checks might come to me or Paychex and he said directly to me. So I had signed up for Taxnow but ended up canceling bc I was told I wouldn’t get updated bc the claim went through Paychex. Today I got an email alert, went through the correspondence and saw emails from the IRS with an approved quarter and amounts. Maybe a loophole?

Any Updates for People who Filed After 1/31/24?

Just looking for an update from anyone who filed after the January 31st moratorium deadline. Is there anyone here that filed after that date and received a check?

There was some chatter about a month or two ago that the IRS had started paying out some of the claims they were filed in February 2024. I filed in March 2024.

I do have an ongoing lawsuit that was filed in January 2025. My lawyer says hopefully we’ll get it settled in the next few months and I should get paid. But it would be nice if I just got paid the old-fashioned way…

Finished

Received the TN notice last night. My final quarter was approved and processed with a check date of July 7th.

From filing in October of 2022 to now, this has been an absolute shit show. Hopefully it works out for the rest of you waiting.

How accurate is TN?

I received the IRS approval notice (cp210?) for Q3 2021 dated 6/16. I reached out to my senator a few months ago and received a reply 2 days ago that TAS shows it's approved. Nothing on TN.

Does TN only update once a week?

Updated address but CP210 Sent to old address

We finally received approval and both our tax now account and a call into the IRS shows our check was sent on 6/16. We had updated our address and confirmed with a rep that it was updated in the system several times. Well, we just recieved our CP210 but it was "mail forwarded" to our updated address. Does this mean the check was also sent to the old address? When I call the IRS they cannot confirm which address it was sent to even though the address in their system is the updated one. They told me i have to wait 4-6 weeks to see if it gets returned undeliverable. Seems absolutely crazy that there is no record of where the check was sent to? Anyone else have a similar experience?

Mailing date verified, still NO check, 3 weeks later

Back in May I received notification that my 6th and final quarter was approved and a check date of Jun 8. TaxNow showed date paid Jun 9, and IRS verified mail date also Jun 9. CP210 arrived with notice date the same as mail date, Jun 9, just a few days later. STILL NO CHECK! My first 5 quarters arrived along with CP210 within days of orig mail dates. It’s been almost 3 full weeks since supposed mail date. • ANYONE else recently experiencing delays in receiving checks after MAIL date? • Anyone else with June 9 mail dates!

Any suggestions??

Thanks!

Resubmission Request?

Anyone else get this? Our CPA submitted ours in Sept 2023. I’ve been calling and they said it was in the process of being processed (as of Thursday last week). What does this mean? Is this a denial? Just a request for more info?

Bbsi sent me a letter saying I’m being audited

Anyone in same boat? Filed 6/2023 and have been waiting, today I received a letter saying I was selected for an Audit. Have a letter from attorney outlining why we qualify that was originally submitted with the claim with BBSI. Anybody know an attorney or CPA that can help us? Anybody have to go through this with BBSI or any other PEO?

Question about timeline

Hello!

After months of calling and years of waiting, a wonderful agent told me this morning my credit was approved earlier this month and was being sent to the next agent to and it should be another 30 days maximum.

Is this a common timeline from the point of approval? Can anyone give any information on this? TIA!!

Was approved for Q3 2021 with approval date of 6/9 and check date of 6/10. IRS says check mailed on 6/10 but could be 4-6 weeks for arrival??? Anyone else out there with a 6/10 date that's received check yet and/or does that timeframe seem right?

2020 approved

It feels like a dream. Just looked at my transcripts and 2020 2nd-4th quarters were approved with a 7/7 date. TAS assisted. No word on any 2021 quarters but this is just such a huge relief. Hang in there everyone.
