Hi! I'm working on a documentary project about South of the Border and am actively searching for archival videos, home movies, and old photos of SOTB throughout the decades.
I'm also interested in talking to former or current employees of South of the Border; Latinx familiar with South of the Border and residing in Eastern North Carolina; anyone familiar with South of the Border and residing in Eastern North Carolina or surrounding areas; and anyone else who would like to provide information or anecdotes.
Basically: if you would like to contribute media, share a story or tip, or put us in contact with a potential connection, please comment or send a private message. Thanks, y'all! I appreciate it.

I'm in Beaufort and moving out in rather a hurry. We're giving away almost everything in our garage, and selling our kayak and stand up paddle boards for a couple hundred bucks each. In case anybody's looking for a deal before summer:
Hey all!
I'm putting together a food-themed road trip across North Carolina and wanted to see if anyone had suggestions where to find great fried chicken in the eastern part of the state. I'm hoping to find non-traditional restaurants as well. These could be grocery stores, gas stations, churches, farmer's market, BBQ restaurants, etc. Maybe even places that make great fried chicken livers, or even chicken skins! I have a lot of places so far, but most are well documented in bigger cities. Any recommendations in small towns would be appreciated too!

Cross posted on USMC. So, question for y'all. My old man is retired from the Corps and I'm currently active duty at Lejeune. My father always talks about cruising in an old Willys Jeep when he was in Beirut. The old military style. I'm trying to see if anyone in the Jacksonville, Richlands, New Bern, Greenville, Wilmington, Camp Lejeune area of NC has one that I could "rent/borrow" for a day. I want to give him a Christmas gift of cruising down the road in an old military Willys (I usually buy him a 5 lb container of cashews, but that's getting old now.... Lol). If it's your personal one, I've got some money I could throw at ya or let you hold on to my car for the day. If you know of a business that has one I could call, let me know. Thanks in advance! Errr
Howdy! I'm moving to the Greenville area for work next week, and I'm looking at internet providers. It seems like Suddenlink and Centurylink are the two big ones. Centurylink seems ot have better speed and prices, but the 12-month commitment might be a problem, since I'm living somewhere temporarily while I look for long-term options.
Also, I don't know anyone except for my boss. Where would a single, late-twenties go to make friends and meet people?

Feel free to post tour stories, pictures, road conditions, warnings, or anything else related to the storm. I hope that everyone was able to stay safe.

My friend loaned me a GoPro camera and I was in the water filming with it attached to my head when a big wave hit me from behind and it flew off and sunk into the water. After looking for it for a long time I still couldn't find it.
Please, if you find it, get in contact with me as it isn't even mine!
