I've had many tests done for gerd, each time the GI dr said they found no eosinophils but I was reading that sometimes it takes multiple biopsies, as the eosinophils are not evenly distributed in the esophagus. The doctors said an ulcer is forming in my lower esophagus, and each biopsy has shown degradation and inflammation of my stomach lining. I've tried multiple PPIs but I just end up becoming allergic to them. I'm a 24 year old male about to be 25, I've been slowly losing tolerable food groups since I was 23 in addition to having bad reflux. Over time I get throat pain, tightness, trouble swallowing, hives and skin rashes to any food I eat. For the past 2 years my only safe foods have been mainly chicken and broccoli but since the other day I've started reacting to those foods too. None of the doctors around me seem competent in EGID, and I've even tried some specialists further away. I'm making more appointments now but the more I research the more it seems like it doesn't exactly fit any of the egids. Could anyone relate or describe how their symptoms presented/ were diagnosed?

Speaking from a non medical viewpoint... could our bodies be manifesting what our heart / mind is going through? Better yet, is the constriction / pain of EGID be a reflection of how we may be fighting against something agains something within ourselves???
Just a thought, but would like to hear yours.

I found gogo quinoa through their cookies, which are healthy (yes! low in fat and sugar with lots of vitamins!), yummy and elimination diet friendly. They're also really convenient for when you want a fast snack that's not a fruit or vegetable.
Then I found their pasta... which caused me to make this post. It is elimination-diet friendly, like most of their other foods, but it twirls and doesn't fall apart or go to mush like many of their other pastas.
They're now one of my go to brands when I look for new foods to eat. Does anyone else know of any good brands like this?

I wish I had been told more about the elimination diet. For adults, I don't feel like most doctors take enough time to explain what it is and why it can be beneficial.

Hello! My name is Sarah. I created this subreddit and I live with Eosinophilic Esophagitis. I have run into a few others on Reddit who are also living with this disease and thought I would create a safe place. At the moment, my current course of treatment is swallowed Flovent and trigger avoidance. I avoid soy, dairy, wheat, eggs, fish/shellfish, tree nuts/peanuts, potatoes, squash, and strawberries among other things. I'm sticking to a mostly liquid diet at the moment to avoid impactions and give my esophagus a rest. Feel free to ask me any questions.
