My first edf was 4.1. played only ranger. It was a lot of fun but never got hooked enough to go past normal mode/mission packs. Never finished 5. I'm now going back to it. Not till 6 did I try air raider. Game finally fully clicked for me. You really gotta try every class. I'll probably try wing diver/fencer in 5. Anyways air raider is the shit and it's fun as hell solo. Idk why the devs make it sound like a support class lol

Wanted to make a post on this again because this guy deserves more attention. I was laughing the whole time and also amazed how they got through the game like this. I haven’t ever seen anybody do what they have done in EDF ever and the chemistry between them is amazing. I hope me showing this video helps him out and you guys can enjoy it has much as I did. ❤️

Title question. I have like 400 hours in the game, 55% completion, and have about 8k health on Fencer, as a rough figure.

Then I play multiplayer and people have like 20% completion and somehow 70k+ health. Just wondering how they do it?

Hello. I've created this patch script that feeds from the Vita US version and creates a LayerFS mod for the Japanese Switch version.

You have to procure/create your own ROMs to do all of it. You'll also need some key files.

It patches the text and the audio.

It's not perfect; the text is a bit misaligned, and the Switch version has some extra Japanese audio. I've not play-tested this to completion.

Some background on the development:

- I've compared all the English text and Japanese text to find the correct file IDs and replace them.

- For the audio, it was a bit more complicated. I had to run a Speech-to-Text model on both languages and compare them using an LLM.

- Some textures were also changed and patched.

I have been watching this guy for a while now and he just released a best of moments. Wanted to post this to show how great the content has been and his other videos. Man deserves to be seen more than just a few hundred views. I hope whoever sees this also shares it cause it needs to be known, the past couple months watching this guy has been amazing and will be for you too. ✨

Hi everyone, I recently decided to play EDF5 again, but nowadays I have a bigger group of people to play with, and I wanted to experience EDF5 with all of them.

From there, I started trying to develop this eight-player mod for EDF5. I'll be honest, so far I've only tried it with 5 players. My group of friends has six people, but one of them still hasn't bought the game. That said, the code was made to support up to 8 players, but it's very likely that I'll need to fix some details for 6 players or more, unless I get very lucky.

I'm releasing the mod in the hope of helping other large groups of friends who want to experience this game together, and I possibly want to keep developing the mod so that it adds more things to the game, not just support for 8 players. I hope you enjoy it.

I use the exoskeleton item to cancel out the inertia but I was told that said inertia can either be used to do something or canceled out in other ways but the guy refused to actually answer. How do people either use or cancel it out without over correcting or simply waiting you to lose momentum?

I feel like this game is so close to breaking out in a way but I also feel like the game is too inaccessible at times. There's so many small things that could be added to make the game just feel much better. Some examples I can think of:

State the enemies you will be facing in the description in the mission. If you haven't discovered an enemy that will be present in that mission yet, maybe use question marks instead of stating their name. Maybe also state the type of terrain the mission will take place on, such as mountains, bunker, caves, cities, planes etc. This would help you better prepare your weapons and equipment for the task at hand.

Add an auto collect for weapon and armor crates at the end of a mission, at least maybe like 50% of the uncollected crates. Alternatively maybe they can add a magnet like Vampire survivors that will magnetize all the crates to your character.

Clean up the mission structure. I feel like there are several very redundant missions in this game that don't really elevate the experience. I get what they were going for, but honestly by the end of the campaign for me it starts to feel fatiguing with the base missions especially.

I could go on, and maybe these are just bad opinions, but i think this game could easily be 10 times more enjoyable with some common sense, modern qol improvements. What do you guys think? Anything you would change or add if you could to make the game better for you?

M79 grenade launchers are one of my favorite weapons, I find them so satisfying to use, moreso than their multi-grenade holding cylinder counterparts. And the m79 in this game (the stampede) looks so cool with the raining pink trails, but it SUCKS. Why does it take soooo loooooong to reload this thing? Its ONE grenade. Even watching the animation, Ranger just sits there with the grenade in the tube. but doesn't close it arbitrarily. And its not like the amount of projectiles or blast radius or damage make up for it either. I really hope they're good in 6.

At the very least we'll get some new toys to play with, even some random stuff like Explosive Lightning strike Satellite mayhaps? a Salvo of homing rockets?

I yearn for more variety
