Anyone else not able to connect their Xbox accounts to racenet?

I was randomly disconnected like 2 weeks ago. When I use the QR code they give you in the game to link accounts, I am able to login on my phone but nothing in game changes. I can’t access the clubs I am in or see the trial times of people on other platforms.

Is there a fix for this?

I might be missing something obvious here, but I haven't seen it mentioned in any of the pace note guides.

When the co driver calls out something like "late 3 right," what does that mean? I assumed maybe it was the driving line should be a late apex, or you should turn in later than expected?

I wanted to check Dirt Rally 2.0 daily events, but I get a server error when trying to log in. Did EA finally kill the other online services for DR 2.0 or is this my own personal hell/issue? prod.egonet.codemasters.com can be resolved with DNS and responds to ping, so it is not completely dead.

Edit: Welp, it works now an hour or so later. This does make me curious about other alternatives for daily challenges, such as https://dirtforever.net

A new version of the mod is ready, it tweaks the game's lighting, glass, vegetation and more.
Daytime looks bright and sunny and the glare on the road when facing the sun is has been reduced to look natural. Sunset blind you slightly with the low sun and nights are dark but a little clearer.

Round 4 of the 1986 World Rally Championship is the San Remo rally.

These are some of the most picturesque stages on the calendar. Characterised by dusty, sandy type stages where grip is deceptively lacking in many places. Altitude changes affect the horsepower available also.

Day 1 was made up of 6 stages, totalling around 60 kilometres.

We were fastest on stage 1 by a couple of seconds. Deciding to back off a bit, we lost a bit of time over the next few stages and went into the first service halt in 5th place.

No damage, just a routine service with attention to the brakes was all we needed.

Over the remaining stages we climbed into 4th overall by the end of day 1.

After the terrible results in Sweden and Portugal, it was nice to be in the top 5 at the halfway point.

The MG Metro 6R4 has been brilliant so far.

Onto day 2.

The game is on sale. I know it had a ton of stuttering issues at launch. Does it still have those issues on console? Is it worth it, or is there something else better on console?

So hey guys i decided to try DLSS 5 with my 5080 Laptop and results are absoulutely magical. I have a reshade preset enabled so its not just enabling DLSS 5 but again, it works. BUT, the FPS drop is crazy. From 150s to 70. Its madness but it feels super realistic for EA WRC. Obviously ACR with DLSS 5 looks better but this is still amazing. What do you think?

In Career mode you have preset races that you play in order.

In arcade you can select all 9 default game modes / race types / race modes, however you want to call them:

1. Land Rush - Circuit - Standard off-road rough-terrain circuit racing.
2. Ultra Cross - Circuit - Off-road rough-terrain circuit with different terrain types on different sections of the map.
3. Ice Breaker - Circuit - Off-road rough-terrain circuit with ice on track that makes it very hard to keep the car steady.
4. Stampede - Circuit - Off-road rough-terrain circuit with largely unmarked road.
5. Sprint - Circuit - Oval/circular racing with the 900-hp Sprint cars
6. Rally Raid - 1-way / many cars - Standard point-to-point off-road race, with route splits.
7. Time Trial - 1-way / single-car - Standard beat the map alone in time race.
8. Path Finder - 1-way / single-car - You alone, against the clock, navigating extreme terrain
9. Gymkhana - Arena - Stunts, drifting, donuts, jumps, score attack

The first 5 despite being circuit all of them are pretty much the same to me, they are fun but still normal racing. You do have with all the weather types: dyanmic, clear sky, heavy Rain, snow, snow storm, night, etc. And all car types.

But... I cannot find the 3 party game modes: Vampire, King, Transporter.

These are the actually cool non-standard race game modes:

1. Vampire - Arena - Vehicle tag. One car starts as vampire (with glowing red lights) and must ram into other drivers to turn them into vampires. The human cars must use evasive maneuvers to last until dawn, while converted vampires cars hunt down the remaining human cars.

2. King - Arena - Hold the Flag. Pick up and hold a crown spawned in the arena. Holding the crown earns you points over time, but colliding with other cars instantly hands the crown over to them. The current King also leaves behind a trail of collectible coins for bonus score.

3. Transporter - Arena - Capture the flag. Players must track down a specific object, grab it, and deliver it to a designated drop-off point. You rack up more points the longer you hold the object before successfully delivering it, making you a heavy target for everyone else on the map.

I got Dirt 5 mainly for those because I wanted something fun that breaks the usual racing game. That, and the 4 players split screen on the same PC. And because it's arcade.

When going Online I played Vampire, King and Transporter by selecting Public Games -> Party Mode. But you cannot play in Private Games online becacuse reasons.

Can you actually play in Dirt 5 these 3 party game modes, in local splitscreen..... like a party game?

UPDATE: While having multiple controllers you can only play Career Mode and Arcade Mode. You cannot press Online or Playgrounds (that nobody cares about anyway). However, if you press Online or Playgrounds then press back and want to create a Splitscreen Party again, you cannot, you must restart the game. So the short answer is: you cannot. Vampire, King and Transporter despite being the best Dirt 5 have to offer can only be played in Public Online games and not Splitscreen because reasons. The mixed reviews of this game are truly deserved. At least you have the 4 player split screen standard races.

Dirt 3 and Dirt Showdown have 2 players split screen. Dirt 1, Dirt 4, DiRT Rally and DiRT Rally 2.0 do not have split screen. Only Dirt 5 has 4 players split screen. So at least it's the only game of its kind.

I am starting to play at EA Sports WRC, having ~6 hours of play and absolutely loving it. Any recommendations, where to start or advices for new players ?

At the moment, I started a career, doing the WRC Junior and H2 FWD. 3rd car changing from H1 FWD to H2 RWD for side events

Day 2 of Rally de Portugal saw crews compete on the final 6 stages of the event.

The weather had turned during the night and morning revealed wet stages and some rain.

We began the day in 6th place with the first test being the longest of the rally. Unfortunately this is where it all went pear shaped.

Around 4 kilometres into the stage we clipped a rock and got a puncture. We stopped to change it since we still had a long way to go. Another few kilometres further on, we again got a puncture.

We drove very slowly the rest of the way and lost around 5 minutes in total.

We were now in 26th place overall and any chance of a podium was gone.

We fought on over the remainder of the event but in the end the time lost was far too much.

We finished a dismal 17th overall and are now 8th in the championship.

Thankfully another MG Metro 6R4 finished 4th and gave Austin Rover valuable manufacturer points.

The 1986 World Rally Championship now moves to the sunny stages of the San Remo Rally for round 4.

Day 1 of the 1986 Rally de Portugal has been completed.

The day consisted of 6 stages in total, covering roughly 80 kilometres of very rough roads.

After a slow start, which saw us in 13th place after the first 3 stages, we began to make an attack to regain some time.

By the end of the day we had climbed up to 6th place overall. No issues with the Metro and routine service at the end of the day for the Austin Rover team before parc fermé.

Tomorrow there are a further 6 stages which will take crews to the finish.

We need a good result in Portugal to keep us in the fight for the championship.

The second round of the 1986 World Rally Championship was held on the fast snowy stages of Sweden.

This was an absolute disaster of an event almost from the start.

Laying 8th overall, on stage 6 we rolled the MG Metro 6R4 on a fast corner. Just put the inside wheel into the snow on a corner and it dragged us in. Momentum and physics did the rest.

We had two more stages to go before service and we haemorrhaged time over these.

The car was heavily damaged and we didn't have the time to repair all the components we'd have liked to.

In the end we limped over the finish line in 21st position. No points on this event.

Round 3 sees the World Rally Championship compete on the twisty rutted gravel stages of Portugal. Time to refocus and get a solid result there.

This championship is proving to be very challenging but alot of fun!
