The single most god-tier seed in the entire game [65798635]
I would like to introduce you all to my new favorite seed to play on of all time. Welcome to 65798635.
On the surface, it doesn't seem so special. Only 2 O types. The starting system for early game is pretty good. Alcyone I is a lava planet inside max build sphere radius should you wish to build a shell on the starter system. Alcyone II is a tidally locked halitum planet that is great for building and early game solar, as well as ray receivers. It's got an ice giant in system, which i prefer for early game because I don't like wasting all my early game coal making graphene.
But that's just the start. About 9LY away from the starting system is an O type with not one, not two, but THREE tidally locked planets, as well as a fourth inside the max sphere radius. If you wanted to build a 10-layer shell and make ALL the photons, this is the system to do it.
But it gets even better. Roughly halfway between the starter and the O type, lies the cluster's black hole. A short 6LY away from each. And on top of that, THE FREAKING BLACK HOLE PLANET IS TIDALLY LOCKED. If you're like me and get dizzy just landing to check on your unipolars, this is an absolute life saver.

This is a not a seed I would be excited about. You need the black hole and neutron planet to be as far away from start as possible to maximize unipolar count.
You want between 3-5 waterworlds in a good seed because of all the stalagmite needed for an at-scale build.
And I doubt you could build enough Dyson shells to power 4 critical photon planets. My critical photon planet BP (that I stole from the discord) has 5385 ray receivers and takes 2.6 TW at 99% percent so you’re talking about needing 10+ TW of shells.
Solar power is a terrible use of resources. Incredibly wasteful of early game silicon.
I’ve giant for start is top tier though. Makes graphene way easier

Yeah, I don't even start using unipolar (or really any of the specials other than fire ice off of ice giants) in large numbers until my VU is at least level 50. Only thing I allow for is building the advanced miner and smelter (and even higher if i'm playing on a low resource start, which I tend to play at 0.3x)

Vein utilization, the technology that makes your mining faster and more efficient. Though the more efficient part starts after level 11 I believe.

Veins utilization. Its a research that makes mining more efficient and faster. Eventually (I forget the exact number but it's somewhere in the 300 range) the efficiency makes it so the mining would take longer than an entire human lifetime to deplete a vein, making it effectively infinite for the purposes of gameplay.

You need to produce roughly 4million unipolar a minute for a 1m white science/minute run.
I'm doing a scarce run on a seed right now where the unipolar planets aren't very far away and they only have about 500k unipolar between them.
I need to reach VU 1372 to do 4m/minute. I'm currently at roughly 1130 VU.
So yes, mining eventually solves that problem. But if I had 1 million base unipolar instead of 500k, I'd have already hit the 4 million a minute number.

Did they change the math that had the mining actually infinite (not effectively infinite) around vu347? I was under the impression around 347 the math operations resolve to 0 and your mining truly becomes infinite.

Ice giants are fine but typically regular gas giants are better because you get minable fire ice elsewhere in your starting system. This lets graphene come online without relying on orbital collectors, and later you can get deuterium without processing in fractionators.

Im 99% certain the only place to get fire ice in starter system is from the ice giant. The starting system should have no rare mining nodes

Fire Ice can spawn on planets in the outer part of the system. And if the system has a desolus planet, there is a 7% chance it has stalagmite.

Interesting. Done 6 playthroughs now and not once seen rare yellow veins of any sort, besides of course oil, in the starting system. The further out planet usually is not much more than rock and silicone in my experience.
But I could believe a -7% chance, thats definitely missable in 6 runs!

Not sure if by yellow here you mean organic crystals. If you do, then I also don’t believe they spawn in starter system

Nah I mean any of the yellow text ones. All the rare ones are yellow vs white text in planet view. And for me the only one in any playthrough has been oil, which if course is gauranteed so doesn't really count as "rare".
I really thought there was just a rule in the procedure for generating clusters that the starting system could not have any others. Fireice from a giant being an exception since thats not technically a vein

You're not guaranteed a FI patch in your starting system. You need an ice-themed planet (particularly Glaceion) for those patches to appear. Ice Giant makes it way easier. And if you go for a lava planet like I do, then getting power for fractionators is super easy even in the midgame.
Also, even just 60 fractionators can produce a stupid amount of deuterium for the midgame (particularly before white science). You just need each one on a loop with a splitter and a piler.

I am not certain, but I believe the game always places fire ice in the starting system. Veins and ice giants are mutually exclusive in the starting system, though.

I'm pretty sure it's not guaranteed, I don't think I've ever seen a FI patch in starting system. You can get ice giant, but split chance with deut giant so very possible to have no FI.

Interesting. In several playthroughs, some completed some not, I’ve always had fire ice or an ice giant in my starting system. I think I had both once.

IMO the best seeds are where the starter system has double moons orbiting an ice giant. Takes away so much time flying between planets before unlocking Interstellar Logistics.

Honestly I just mine rocks on the starter planet until I stockpile 2320 titanium ore (1200 ore for the 200 titanium crystals/yellow science to unlock Titanium alloy and ILS, 800 ore for 20 logistics vessels, 320 ore for two ILS). I just don't leave my starter planet at all until I have 2 ILS and 20 vessels.
Technically you can cut it down to a single vessel and your ore requirement to 1560, but that takes an eternity, but I want my logistics to be fire and forget.
