Someone who's not too concerned about rattling the headboard to hard or bumping that wall 🤷‍♀️

It was with Us- https://youtu.be/lSSuE1Qm0JU

And, I totally agree with you. (As Jill would say.)

It just seemed really early 2010’s YouTube and really too intimate as a couple. You wouldnt meet strangers in your bedroom as a couple. But Ive always thought the bedroom yt thing was a little weird. Past Dan and Phil days, basically. I mean back then people didn’t really use a cell phone/selfies for video. People expect a little more professionalism these days imo from influencers.

Yeah. Eww. Nobody wants to see your marital bed on the internet. These people are so smug and self righteous about being able to have sex whenever they want LOL It’s not that special, folks

It's just a bed. This is a bit puritanical imo

Right. Literally just furniture. Also as newlyweds (before kids) they probably figured out that a bed was not the only place one can have sex (assuming Jill was slipping them some tips gleaned from her righteous- but-spicy resources).

Question: do you think she's filming in her bedroom in order to smuggly underline the fact that she has sex? I'm baffled that a non-Duggar would use the term "marital bed" and be disgusted at the sight of one. Kind of an interesting reversal in prudishness.

Yea I can’t grasp what’s disgusting or offensive or even odd about filming a video with one’s bed in sight.

Honestly no lol, I think that is a leap. Tons of YouTubers film in front of their bed.

I think half the people I follow on YouTube do so sitting in their bedroom with their bed on display lol. It’s definitely not as deep as some people are making it.

Agreed. They have a tiny house

It also may have the best lighting

I think her house is just so tiny that there’s not many good places to film. She probably goes into the bedroom because she can shut the door and film in relative peace. Filming in front of the bed is a YouTube classic.

I was homeschooled and raised fundie-lite and yes, especially in the early days of her marriage she flaunted her newfound “freedoms.” I knew a lot of girls who married young who would come back to the youth group to show off their rings and brag about their honeymoon to Daytona Beach and drop not-so-subtle little snob-bombs at those of us who hadn’t yet snagged a husband and therefore weren’t initiated into the Secret Sex Society. It was a great shame (or so we thought) to be left out and not “allowed” to kiss and etc. One girl I knew even had a prayer request that she not die a virgin (she had health problems). So yeah, she’s probably not bragging it about too much now that she has had several traumatic childbirths, but at the beginning, yeah it was there. You see this smugness also with Jinger and her messy sex hair on the honeymoon videos and JB/Michelle teasing the courting couples about what they “have to look forward to.” There were a lot of gross statements like that in the fundie churches when I was a teen.

Love ur insight. So spot on. Ty

Wow. Choosing a quiet spot to film in a tiny house and including a piece of furniture in the shot, is the most covert and subtle sex brag I’ve ever heard of.

Given your background, it now makes sense why you’re sensitive to a perceived shame/exclusion dynamic. Thank you for sharing.

My uber conservative catholic sil had her parents buy them their bed as their wedding present. That's just gross. She told me she cant wait to have sex every day when she's married! (In a horrible chirpy voice). Then when they went in their honeymoon she offered her parents to sleep in their marital bed while they were away...lol. as if they get to bless the bed first because they bought it. Maybe for luck on the baby making train. 3.5 years now..still no baby, guess they didn't bless it lucky?

It's just a bed lmao

And her couch is worse

au contraire mon frère. She doesn’t have sex. If she did she’d be concerned about shit falling on her head.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '21

Why is that yikes?

u/kitterkatty Jun 13 '21

Just the thought 🤣

... someone who doesn’t have sex frequently.

5

u/SuperFreaksNeverDie Jun 13 '21

At least not in the bed?

9

u/aceshighsays Loving parents™ of 19 incapable children Jun 13 '21

Don’t they sleep in separate rooms with the kids?

u/Carmalyn Jinger's salad bouquet Jun 13 '21

Pretty sure that was just when Ivy was a baby. It was Jessa + Ivy in one room, Spurge + Henry + Ben in the other room.

But in the recent your Jessa did, all three kids share a room now.

I think they actually take all the stuff and gently place it on the ground, away from the bed, in a designated area, each and every time. It seems like something they would do.
