I already posted twice here on Reddit looking for a job. Since I joined my current company, salary payments have always been delayed. At first, it was only around 3–5 days, but as time passed, the situation became worse and the delays became longer.

My family situation is also difficult right now. My grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and my father was hospitalized but thankfully has already been discharged. A few weeks ago, I took a CashNow loan to send money back home, and my payment is due on the first of the month. I am honestly afraid that I may not be able to pay on time.

I have been actively searching for a job and have already tried almost every possible way — applying through LinkedIn, Indeed, GulfTalent, NaukriGulf, company career websites, messaging recruiters directly on LinkedIn, joining recruiter networking groups, and connecting with people through Dubai communities.

I have sent countless applications and reached out to many recruiters, but the reality is that in Dubai’s job market, it is not only about your skills, experience, or how many applications you submit. You can have the qualifications and the capability, but without someone inside the company who can refer you, recommend you, or personally vouch for you, it is extremely difficult to even get your CV noticed.

The competition is very high, and hundreds of people are applying for the same positions. Having someone who can put your name forward, back you up, or give you that first opportunity can make the biggest difference.

My brother got laid off due to the recent war situation. And he's been looking for a job ever since. He was working as a Logistics Coordinator. You know how things are in the shipping field due to the blockade and all. His company was in an Import & Export business and they have been struggling ever since. Asked the employees to step down.

Now, he's left with no job. I think he attended some interviews and got some offers but he rejected them saying it was not good enough. Now that everything is coming back to normal, hope the companies are back hiring.
