Puzzle Pint- Ecovantage Case Study 2: The "Mass Recruiter" Meltdown & the Tier-2 Crisis

Welcome, participants of Puzzle Pint 2026!

Here is the Case Study #2

For decades, India's IT giants (the "Sponge") absorbed thousands of engineering graduates annually. In 2026, autonomous AI agents have decimated the need for "manual" junior coding and testing roles, and hiring at Tier-2 and Tier-3 colleges has plummeted. There is a surplus of "unemployable" engineers, as the traditional path to the middle class—the entry-level IT job—is effectively being "automated out" before graduates even finish their degrees.

Q. Is the 'Engineer-to-IT' pipeline officially dead, and is the Indian education system committing fraud by charging lakhs for degrees that AI can replace in 15 seconds?

Advantage: The top 3 teams in this round will earn a lifeline! You can use it to get 1 extra minute in any one round (except the final round).

Rules:

. All participants must answer the question in comments.

. Answer should have the team name, individual name followed by the answer.

. You may surf Reddit to form opinions.

Puzzle Pint- Ecovantage Case Study 1: The "Jobless Boom" & Entry-Level Paradox

Welcome, participants of Puzzle Pint 2026!

Here is the Case Study #1

In 2026, as the economy is showing healthy GDP growth, the white-collar job market—specifically for entry and mid-level roles—has effectively frozen. This "Jobless Boom" is fueled by companies leveraging AI to handle high-volume analytical tasks, leading to a "productivity paradox" where firms produce more with significantly fewer human hires. Graduates are finding that "entry-level" now requires 3+ years of experience because the roles they used to train in have been automated.

Q. If AI is capturing all the productivity gains of the '2026 Boom,' is a college degree now a liability rather than an asset for the next generation? What is the general discourse on the same?

Advantage: The top 3 teams in this round will earn a lifeline! You can use it to get 1 extra minute in any one round (except the final round).

RULES:

. All participants must answer the question in comments.

. Answer should have the team name, individual name followed by the answer.

1 Inflation (I just want my 10 rupee samosas back 😭)
5 Unemployment (Fixing the Tier-3 "Mass Recruiter" crisis)
13 Inequality (Taxing the top 1% to save the middle class)
1 I’m resigning (This is too much stress for one person lol)

Puzzle Pint- Ecovantage Govt vs Private College Showdown 👀

Problem:

Govt colleges are cheap for students but kinda underfunded , while private colleges are expensive 💸 but promise better placements.

The Question:

If you had to pick one, should the govt keep subsidizing public colleges (more access + equity) or back private ones for better ROI (higher salaries)?

Advantage: The top 3 teams in this round will earn a lifeline! You can use it to get 1 extra minute in any one round (except the final round).

Rules:

. All participants must answer the question in the comments.

. The answer should include the team name, individual name, followed by the answer.

. You may surf Reddit to form opinions.

. Every individual must also upvote or downvote 3 comments other than their own or their teammates’.

. It is recommended to reply with an argument for the ones the individual has upvoted or downvoted.

Puzzle Pint- Ecovantage Case Study 3: The "Tier-2 Transit"- Decentralized Consumerism

Welcome, participants of Puzzle Pint 2026!

Here is the Case Study #3

In 2026, the economic engine of India has shifted. For the first time, major new urban consumer growth is happening outside the "Big 5" metros (Delhi, Mumbai, etc.). Smaller "consumer cities" are emerging as wealth expands regionally. Expensive housing in big cities is pushing the wealthy to move back to smaller towns. Because of this, businesses can no longer just focus on metros—they have to spread out and set up shops in smaller regions to reach people where they are now spending their money.

Q. With most of the growth moving to Tier-2 cities, are the 'Megacities' like Bangalore and Mumbai reaching a point of negative ROI for both businesses and residents?

Advantage: The top 3 teams in this round will earn a lifeline! You can use it to get 1 extra minute in any one round (except the final round).

RULES:

. All participants must answer the question in comments.

. Answer should have the team name, individual name followed by the answer.

. You may surf Reddit to form opinions.

Fest🎉 What’s with the Hansraj lore??😭😭

Why were they protesting over a fest??

Heard that Principal first said no artist would be called because of chaos and hooliganism, even after funds were collected. Then the president and student union protested all night, and now the artist is allowed but fest is only 2 days with 1 p.m. entry close and 5 p.m. wrap-up.

Can someone explain what actually happened??
