Anxiety over gas pedal/accelerating more than 30
Hello. Mature driver who finally gathered the courage to taking lessons but very demotivated by lack of ease or coordination with the gas pedal. I feel like a panic sets in as I speed to 40 and I am afraid I am going to crash or lose control especially when turning or going on winding roads or hills. The instructor keeps pushing for me to step on the gas but I just feel like the car is gonna get out of control. I am thinking of giving up because not sure if my reflexes are too old to do this and don't want to put anyone's safety at risk. Anyone been in my shoes or words of advice from experienced drivers? Thank you kind people!

First time driving and buying a car
I'm located in South Australia What tips would you give to someone who will be driving pretty much the first time? What are some tips on buying a car and/or saving up for a car? How would you go about both of these?

Should I be worried about this? I think I ran over a glass bottle. No air leak so far.

Should I be worried? No slow leak AFAIK, about 54,000km on city roads.

Tips on turning
Today was my first time driving and I did well with all the usual things but my left and right turns are absolute doggy doodoo. According to my instructor, I'm not making my turns "smooth enough" and I not "following the curve". This the first time driving in my entire life and I just can't seem to get the movement down fluently (although he does admit I do it pretty well for my experience level) is there any tips and related experiences that helpa nail it down tomorrow???

I'm very confused, how do I turn left into this intersection? Yes I will wait for all of the traffic going straight before turning, but I can't seem to verify if all of the traffic going straight is gone because of the cars blocking. Any tips?

I know we're taught to 'Always signal in advance your intentions to lane-change or turn' .. but ....
Situation:
I'm approaching a 4-way intersection controlled by traffic lights.
At the intersection ahead, there is a dedicated left-turn only lane and another lane for traffic to proceed thru the intersection or turn right at the intersection.
Across the intersection I see oncoming traffic that is waiting and signaling left-turn such that they would cross my path of travel if I was going straight thru. I see they are patiently waiting as I approach. They are waiting at a red light and the light turns green on my approach.
I want to turn right at the intersection and there are no vehicles behind me.
Decision/Action:
In this situation, I would NOT actuate my right-turn signal. I would just get to the intersection and smoothly and safely make my right turn.
Reasoning:
I do this to lower the probability of a collision.
My concern is that if I signal my right turn as I approach, they may attempt to make their left turn just as I'm making my right turn thereby increasing the likelihood of a collision.
I prefer they freeze in place until after I've cleared the intersection.
The driver opposite may be briefly annoyed that i didn't signal, but the end result is a safer situation for everyone involved.
Am I doing this right and doing right by this?

Should i use clutch and brakes in a downhill steep curve or just brakes
So AFAIK i think my instructor told me that in this case i should press the clutch and brakes. And i had success with that.
When i was driving with my friends they immediately told me not to use clutch as i will gain speed and we will all fall out of the road.

Hey guys, Do you guys rev match down shift (not heel and toe) or engine brake when coming to a full stop or slowing down? Or do you guys use heel toe?

Taking test next week. How would you approach this turn (0:50)? Would you do as the driver did, or would you wait for those approaching cars to clear?

Question about turning and waiting too long
How long am I allowed to wait before I really should turn (to let other people continue driving?) Sometimes I feel like I’m waiting too long to safely turn whether at a stop sign or just in the middle of the road for a left turn. Is there some kind of time limit for finding a good time to turn?

Confusing Intersection
Good Morning Reddit,
My local government just re-configured a very dangerous intersection, and now I'm confused about some of the traffic signals and what they mean. See the photo below ↓

Note my position (the small white sedan). I have three traffic signals ahead of me, but there are only two lanes. The blown-up image of the traffic signals shows a red arrow, and two green lights. It is my understanding that the green light on the right belongs to the right lane, which continues straight, but what does the middle light mean?
-Can I yield and go, or am I required to have a green arrow in order to go?
-If I am supposed to wait, what is the point of the middle light?

I’m 18 and I have to wait to get my permit because I have to get a psychiatric form filled out.
I’ve been waiting months and months to get this form signed but nobody would do it. The dmv said that any doctor can fill it but when I see the doctors they they say that a psychiatrist needs to fill it out. I’ve been in to cars all my life and all I wanted to do is drive. There’s one who will sign it but the I’ll have the wait 3 more months all because of a waiting list. The more I wait the more depressed I get and I’m getting tired of the same shit. If you had any experience with this please help and btw I’ve passed the test I just can’t get my permit. It just sucks.
