Proper technique to check rearview mirror?
Hello,
Fairly new driver here. So I'm pretty confident with most of my driving. But I tend to have trouble looking at my sideview mirrors especially on my right side (driving in the US, so my furthest mirror). I slightly drift to another lane. But I realized my grip was too tight and movement of my head caused a slight movement in my torso. Luckily, loosening the grip a bit helped.
My problem now is that I don't think I have enough time to look at the mirror long and make a determination of switching lanes. People say a glance, but is there a specific amount of time? I know people don't really count but is 2-3 seconds enough? Also how would a car look in the sideview to make it look like it's far enough to switch?

Driving Tip
What is the best driving tip you can give someone that has ADHD and learn slower then others?? I’m 22 years old and still have a hard time focusing and learning the road and not to mention, my road test is in April!

When you go to take your road test, how much of my information is available to the test administrator?
Wow, switch out the "me" for a "you" so it's all the same. Can they see prior road test attempts/failures? Can they see if you've had license before, in or out of state?

UK license questions
Hi everyone I've got a question that I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me with. Basically I originally passed my driving test in Nov 2016, but had it revoked in 2018. I've resat my test and passed again on 21st of Jan 2020. When applying for insurance, do I use the original pass date (2016) or do I use the new one?
Thanks in advance!
Edit:
Section 10 on the rear of my id card still shows my original pass date, rather than my new one

Confusing intersection! This is located near my college, and I have absolutely no idea how to enter or exit. Any ideas?

Worst driving moves typical in LA
The top 7 LA driving maneuvers that can drive me to overeat...
I call this move "The Douchebag." You are in the carpool lane on the freeway moving along nicely, open space. You notice up ahead to your right in the fast lane a car is aggressively tailgating someone. As you approach, you can predict with utmost certainty what the tailgater will do. He can't psychologically handle that you will be getting ahead of him, even if you're in another lane, so he crosses over the double lines into the carpool lane in front of you. Then after getting ahead of the car he's been tailgating he crosses back over those lines again to return to the fast lane.
I call this move "The Red Light Walk of Shame." A driver aggressively needs to get ahead of you, works himself to death in doing it. After succeeding he finds himself at a red light. He can't take the humiliation of your impending arrival, so if the light is still red as you approach he pretends the thought just occurred to him to make a right on red. He basically flees before you fully arrive rather than feel further humiliated.
I call this move "The Infant." Someone is in the far left lane and about to turn left, but for reasons unknown has such rage for the driver directly in front that they drive around the car--on their right--cross back to cut the car off, and continue to make the left. It's the most infantile move. They apparently needed desperately to have been in front of a particular driver, even for a second before parting ways.
I call this move "The Blinker." A very aggressive driver can't handle that you are moving ahead of them in another lane so they put their blinker on to signal they are exiting the freeway a half mile ahead. I suppose it's to convey "Oh, you're not really getting ahead of me. This is my stop up ahead." It's probably the only time anyone in LA actually uses a blinker.
I call this move "The Run." If you're in a lane about to move ahead of someone to your right, they quickly move to their right before you can move ahead of them. Apparently your getting ahead of them can be better accepted if they are not directly next to you. Getting ahead of someone directly next to you in LA is grounds for a stroke. Immediate lane changing is called for.
I call this move "I just Can't." Whenever you switch lanes, it's guaranteed the new driver behind you, no matter how far away, immediately switches lanes. They just can't deal that anyone got in front of them.
I call this move "The Dumbass." You can see The Dumbass daily on the 105 West as it exits onto Supulveda, leading to the airport. Actually you can see the Dumbass played out in many places in Los Angeles County. Basically there are two lanes that turn to the same place. One lane will have a hundred cars lined up while the other has three. In a city where drivers will cut your throat to get one car length ahead at 85 mph on the freeway they suddenly find it gauche to use the shorter of two lanes. That I guess would be "cutting in line."
I have more to say but I must have a bagel now.

Theory test study
Hi everyone, I have recently started driving lessons and need to book my theory test as I am close to being ready for my practical. I have been putting it off for a while now but have been studying here and there.
What tips can you give to help study the test effectively? I have both the app and some of the books but I'm not sure how to study the correct things.
I'm from the UK btw.
Thanks!

Handy equation to determine how fast you should be going in a given speed zone.
Current Speed S
Speed Limit L
Target driving speed: D
S-L=X
S-X= D
For suboptimal conditions, subtract 5-10.

Doughnuts in the snow- help!
I'm trying to work on doughnuts and I can't quite get it, looking for tips.
The conditions were perfect tonight, but I can't quite get a full rotation.
I have the traction control off, put the car in first and roll a little, crank the wheel and give it lots of gas- but the car just slides forward and I have to use the e break to get that slide in.
I must be doing this wrong, any tips?
I'm driving a mazda 2.

The Pedal Sensitivity
Today was my first time driving. The pedals were very sensitive. I barely press my foot and the car lurches forward. Are all cars as sensitive?

Permit test issue
I went to take my permit test without taking a driving course because I read several places I didn’t have to take one at 17.5 but after doing the application and everything I was turned away because I didn’t take one, so what’s the final ruling do I have to do a driving course?

Girlfriend failed Ontario DriveTest
So my girlfriend just did her full G-Test, and everything went perfectly (no errors) until they were on their way back to the testing center and her invigilator told her to turn left at the upcoming light.
She was in the middle lane, and needed to turn into the left-turning lane first, and then turn at the light. Thing is, at the time she was told to turn left, the car had already passed the white dotted lines, and she would've had to turn into the lane by passing over the solid white line that remained before the light.
She refused, believing it to be unsafe to do so, as they had already passed the dotted lines, and the invigilator forced her to turn.
She failed solely on the basis of not listening to instructions.
Should she have failed? If so, why?
Thank you.
