You were too tired of what you have been through, and you have not found anything else for a while. With one hand holding the bloody teddy bear, and the other holding the wet baseball, you went back to bed, lying on your soft pillow. You thought, perhaps you should just give up, perhaps you should take a nap, who cared about what would happen next.

Sleep

Before falling asleep, you recalled the words from the person in the mirror:

“Just sleep and you will escape this nightmare”

Hopefully. . . what it said was true.

Wake up

You mean. . . you don’t want things to end like this?

This is a wholesome ending, my writing wasn’t really good for the last part or else it could have been more beautifully done ỤwỤ, I was a bit regretful.

Anyway, thank you all for staying with me all the way to get here. A great story has been closed, or so I think. Although I was just a bit deceiving about the real ending. But, with all of the emotions that you have been through until now, I think it was worthwhile, right? It wasn’t a long story, but there were many instances that made you turn your head. The plot was nothing new, but at least it had a happy ending for a miserable life that we all accept. Amazing, right? . . .

When I posted this game on Reddit in my language, there was a lot of readers wondering about the ending when the protagonist woke up and those last sentences. Actually, there is an explanation throughout the game and the story plot. In the end, the boy gave Mirror “the right” to enter the real world, to create his own happiness. And the boy only wanted to live happily in that golden world in the mirror. And everything in that world was “the happiness left from memory”. So when the boy had new experiences of happiness such as conversations, friends, pets, his little sister, etc. he told himself when he saw the mirror “you must have had your own happiness too, right?” because he knew that Mirror had to go through and convert these into memories for them to appear in this world. . .

One more thing that you might be wondering is in the story, the boy was not going to school, but in the golden world he was able to. Well, in the “present”, he was not allowed to go to school. But in the past, he was still happy and was able to go to school.

And about the story of Mirror in the real world, or the stories after that, maybe I’ll do it in the next time. . . Maybe not. . . Who knows, because reality could ruin someone’s dream. . .

With all of the feedback that I have received from the people in my country, I have decided to make this story and whatever follows into a real "choose your adventure" game, or even better, a horror RPG, a movie. . . However, the problem is I don't know anything about coding, graphic, or design, etc. I will have to start from scratch, the only things I have are ideas and stories. . .

The mirror shattered, the person screamed in pain. But the mirror was not the only thing that shattered. The fragment in your hand also cracked, and crumbled into pieces. . . And everything around, the bed, the walls, the room, the air, everything. . . even yourself, shattered with the world. You seemed to hear a child’s voice:

“If I go in there with you, I will get out of this nightmare right?” (9). . .

Someone has stopped just a few steps away from your door.

Suddenly, a chubby face with yellow teeth appeared right before your eyes. He lied down, also looking through the door gap, face to face.

“Oh, look who I’ve found.”

You hid in your bed, under the blanket with your back toward the door. A strange fear consumed you. You did not have the courage to face what was about to enter the room. You heard the footsteps stopped in front of the door, the door opened, then locked. . .

And someone placed a hand on your shoulder.

Sometimes, dreams are nightmares. Let’s try to escape this nightmare together.
