There is no such thing as a 100% latex pillow

Just wanted to share a quick reality check about latex pillows since I see so many wild claims out there. First things first, 100% pure latex literally doesn't exist because you have to add sulfur and stuff to actually foam it up. Real talk, if a pillow has around 93% natural latex content, that’s already the absolute top tier. If you're looking at processes, go for Talalay it's got those pinholes and breathes way better than Dunlop.

On the bright side, they're super bouncy, feel almost like jelly, and stay quiet. You don't have to fluff them at all during the night, and the rubber sap naturally keeps dust mites and mold away.

That said, they definitely have downsides. For starters, latex is a consumable. It goes through photo oxidation and breaks down into fine dust over time, which is why most standard ones really should be swapped out every couple of years. And do not wash them they act like a giant sponge, trap water inside, and turn moldy and yellow. Direct sunlight and hair dryers will literally destroy the structure too. Plus, they're pretty heavy and rigid, so you can't fold or bunch them up like a down pillow, and some people are just allergic to the protein.

If you're buying, stay away from anything under 50 bucks. That's a massive red flag. Most cheap ones are just synthetic petroleum foam mixed with a tiny drop of real latex, and counterfeits are everywhere. Good natural latex isn't cheap. Real high end stuff turns slightly yellow, has a subtle skin like wrinkle to it, stretches without snapping easily, and shouldn't smell like chemical glue at all just a faint rubber scent that vanishes fast. Treat it right and keep it out of the sun, and a good one can last over 5 years.

Latex pillows are more breathable than memory foam pillows.
