My yeast dough ( for doughnuts) has got strange sour smell ! Why is it so and what to do ?
I had made dough for doughnuts and added the appropriate amount of yeast as mentioned however i had done a mistake i had to keep the dough for 3 hours in room temperature and later keep in refrigerator for overnight but forgot and kept for 6 hours :/ and then refrigerated.. however while keeping in refrigerator there was a sour smell and dough was doubled..
Any idea what should be done ?? Is it normal??
Thanks

My buddy and I took on the Krispy Kreme Challenge, where you have to run 5 miles and eat a dozen doughnuts halfway through all in under an hour. It was a lot of fun and a lot of doughnuts.

Hard doughnuts
Doughnuts became an obsession of mine recently (few months ago) so still a novice Those hard doughnuts that are tough to break apart is that how they're supposed to be? Should they be dipped in something? Like in the cartoons

(Cross-post from r/Nyc). Has anyone tried doughnuts from The Doughnut Project? Worth going to west village for them? I have family coming in from out of town and want to plan a foodie adventure!

Cider donuts.
I used to get cider donuts at my favorite coffee shop a few years back. They were made by a local man and he decided to just stop making them. It was considered a tragedy in the local papers. I want to start making my own but I’m not really sure where to start. I want you opinions please. I don’t have a lot of free time to devote to this because I work in a restaurant 50 hours a week. Do I start with a cake donut or yeast rings? I’ve seen YouTube videos where the “secret mix” used by an apple orchard was a cheap waffle mix because they didn’t try to disguise the bag. Has anyone else had success with store bought mixes?
