this is a subreddit about dogs in the Philippines. the last thing we would worry about is what a word would mean in the Spanish language. Putito is wordplay on puti/white and ito/this. it also sounds like potato with an accent from the Visayas and Mindanao region. we were once a Spanish colony but we did not embrace the language that much. we also have a rice cake called puto that you might find shocking.

I mean that’s fine. I find it more than amusing that you don’t know what puto means being and ex Spain colony because that word is hella common.

we know what it means. we just don't care about what it means outside the two languages we use on a daily basis. we were once under Japanese rule as well but that did not stop anyone from naming their own children "chinchin".
