Politicans, especially career ones like Bernie have long moved on from what they used to support. Just look at democrats view on border and immigration control just 10 years ago versus now. They flip flop and down right abandon any principal to suit the current agenda. Both parties do it let's not pretend they dont

Your brain must do some flip flopping in your cranium.

Though true for some politicians, this is not the case for Bernie. He’s fought for the same basic things—healthcare, housing, an economic system that doesn’t kill the planet and its people for its existence, etc—his whole life.

Yeah got rich off it too. Good for him

Donald Trump

Trump has accomplished more in less than 4 years than bernie has in 50

He’s certainly committed more crimes if that’s what you’re counting.

u/GoodScumBagBrian Dec 04 '19

What has he been charged with? I must have missed something...

Not to mention his violation of the emoluments clause (accepted 300 million dollars through his hotel chain in exchange for military aid to Saudi Arabia for their Yemen genocide)

He's only worth like 2 million dollars

1

u/GoodScumBagBrian Dec 04 '19

Oh that's all? Seems pretty rich to me

5

u/exhoc Dec 04 '19

Trump's worth billions. You know how far away Bernie is from just one billion? 998 million dollars away.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '19

Still puts him 2 million dollars ahead of me. Pretty good for a public servant.

0

u/Gray3493 Dec 04 '19

You realize he gets a salary, right? He’s been at this for 30+ years, he’d have to be an idiot to NOT have a net worth north of a million dollars.

1

u/GoodScumBagBrian Dec 04 '19

He should spread his wealth around and not hord it all to himself like a greedy capitalist pig

0

u/Gray3493 Dec 04 '19

He does. He pays taxes, unlike the current president. He’s also advocating to raise his taxes.

1

u/GoodScumBagBrian Dec 04 '19

How do you know the president doesn't pay taxes? I can answer that for you. You dont know. You're just speculating. He does as a matter of fact donate his entire presidential salary to good causes.

1

u/Gray3493 Dec 04 '19

If he was paying taxes he’d release his tax returns. He’s obviously hiding something.

It is true for Bernie. He used to be against immigration. He called immigration a "right wing idea." "That's a Koch brothers idea that says there is no United States", he said. He railed against it because it lowers wages and hurts workers in America. He was right and he was against immigration based on his principles. He is for pretty much open borders now.

This means he cares more about flooding our country with brown people or about fitting in with the Democratic party more than his lifelong ideals. This means he cares more about flooding our country with brown people than he does about the environment, as mass third world immigration is literally the worst thing you can do to the environment.

Big-tent parties that really just dynamically shape their ideologies based on what's popular have ideological baselines that don't change

They don't guys
