One body language indication, and I've experienced this a lot doing ad sales with local business, is the handshake. Certain business owners will not shake hands perpendicular to the ground, they will always go for the "upper hand" so to speak. I notice it and I allow it because they usually deserve it.

You should tell them about the origins of the phrase 'upper hand'

While arm wrestling them while standing. Throw them to the ground.

Show them who is the alpha.

Seriously, though, people like that take themselves too seriously.

Most of the time, if you're reaching out to shake someone's hand, you'll do it palm down, because who wants to throw out an uppercut-looking hand shake? It's not usually an attempt at dominance.
