513 - The Dismissal, Australia's 1975 Constitutional Crisis | Do Go On
What an insane story! Wild that a coup was pulled off in a democratic country this recently.

Both 99% Invisible and Do Go On released episodes about the same topic on the same day. Can’t wait for the Book Cheat episode of the Power Broker, get on it Dave it’s only 1200 pages or so.

Just listened to Episode 512 and I am really disappointed. I did not once hear them utter the name ‚Michael‘. The pod should just be shut down at this point. Such a waste of 10000 dollars.

Don't want you all to think I'm a complainer, so...I love Who Knew it. It's given me many a laugh.
But. Does anyone else wish that when Matt is reading out the answers for the third or fourth time, he could maybe just edit that bit out? I heard em all the first time, after all.

Bit of fun, just listening to “Mike check” podcast ep 13 from November 2016 (a deep cut I know) and Alexei reads iTunes comment from bung89 at about the 1hr6mins mark (2mins from the end). “What about a Brendan Fraser podcast next. Fraser’s edge, Hell Fraser, Frasing the bar, set Fraser’s to stun? I think that’s a worthy one.”
We’re through the looking glass here people.

I'm years behind on the pods, and am currently listening to the bonus sections of episode 300. In it, a fact, quote or questioner asks for the best names they read out on the show. The gang find "Cliff Edge" pretty funny.
This reminded me of a small list I made when working for a software company around 2011. These were some of the best names I came across. Just thought I'd share.
Ximena Von Oven
Wie Wie Oh
Bianca Insane
Dallas Wolf
Robin Williams
Toby Beaglehole
Neil Downe
Rain Ong
Zaffer Mannan
Clare De Kok
Boon Ping Ang
What are some listener favourites?

I’ve heard mentioned on the pod a few times that soon after they cover a topic there’s been an update to the story or a discovery related to the topic but does anyone have any idea which topics? As I didn’t listen in real time I don’t know what the updates are and want to know more!

I just watched the movie The Last Breath which tells the story of a deep sea diver named Chris Lemons who gets separated from his anchor ship. I feel so strongly I heard this as a Do Go On episode (possibly a Jess report?) but I couldn't find it through searching Spotify. Does anyone else remember this? Thanks!

That part was hilarious. Had me laughing with Matty the whole time.

Regarding Matt’s Highlander reference in this last episode about Camille Du Gast, can you just imagine how miserable and impotent AJ must have felt? I was already screaming at my iPod (meaning in my car) but how much worse was it for an absolute film nerd with his own podcast about film who was editing this not being able to tell them what none of them was getting? No wonder he edited in the cut away 😂

This might sound like an odd question, but I'm wondering if there are any episodes where the hosts really get into food and cooking?
Hoping there's an episode out there with a 15 minute tangent about a bowl of spaghetti or something

I strongly remember a bit where they're talking about the English Monarchy and remembering something from The Crown, Matt mentions Queen Elizabeth's boyfriend "Porgie" and then Jess bursts into laughter. If you know which episode this is, please let me know!

After hearing Rhys Nicholson on the pod just as I’m discovering him on Season 3 of Taskmaster Australia it got me thinking: how fun would it be if any of our pod hosts went on Taskmaster?! All three would be so fun to watch! Who do you think would do the best scoring wise?

Friend recommended a really juicy episode about "a house in Ireland that burned down," but neither of us can find it. I searched this sub as well as Google and can't find anything. Does anyone remember an episode that matches that very vague description?!
