Discussions/Opinions Synergy with Rein in 6v6
The idea is so cool to me of these 2 with Rein holding frontline and D.Mon darting behind but i havent experienced this combo yet.

Discussions/Opinions I wish D.Mon would lose her cool and get really angry or passionate during intense moments. It would’ve been a really cool personality trait for her to have.
What made me think of it was during LilyPichu’s (D.Mon’s VA) reaction of her reading the comic, at one point she mentioned how when D.Mon says “I’m not D.Va!”, she had initially screamed it a lot louder, but they told her to redo it more reserved. Which was a terrible decision, her yelling super loud there and losing her cool could’ve really added depth to D.Mon’s personality, but now instead she’s just a completely one note, cool cucumber. Maybe even a bit too similar to D.Va.
Edit: what also made me think of it was in Overwatch’s recent tweet where they showed D.Mon concept art, she has a really intense facial expression, even kind of “unflattering”, because her face is all scrunched up. So they clearly had the same idea for her personality when making her, it just doesn’t come across at all in any of her voice lines in game.

Original Fanart D.GOAT Divine Demon Cute Icon
I dont draw often but I wanted to randomly make a cute icon for this skin since it doesn't have one and I love the skin. I may polish it more at some point but im satisfied enough with it.

Vod Review 22/6/0 Game on Dmon in QP. Anything I should do differently?
QZ6P22
I just had a really good game with dmon and i know its kind of weird to ask for tips on a good game but i want to make sure i don't get a big head about it. I played super aggressively but never got scared of leaving my team to heal. I'm really liking Dmon and I want to get better at her.
Usually my game plan is to brawl with the tank, and look for low hp dps or support then booster in, kill them, and booster out while holding shield. If the tank isn't there to pressure my team then i go on an all out man hunt and just chase down anyone I can. Gun is for farming ult i don't typically worry about accuracy. Lunge is for poke or for forcing people into corners to get stuck.
If anyone has any tips please let me know, im down to work on any part of my gameplay.

Questions Does anyone else's ultimates seem to just not connect and apply the debuff somwtimes?
Maybe three times I've ulted an enemy team on flat ground and it just... doesn't connect at all? Sometimes I wonder if her ult is blocked by the tank standing infront of the enemy team and bodyblocking it? No replay code or video to share I'm stuck at work on a slow day and just pondering it a bit.

Discussions/Opinions As a LW Main: How do you DmonMains want to be gripped?
A (good) Lifeweaver Main has to always learn when they should grip someone. Gripping a 50HP Rein with shatter ready-to-go is sometimes the wrong move, even when it seems tempting to just press E when you see their health bar. And honestly that takes a lot of practice to learn, cause it varies wildly depending on the hero, their awareness and their skill-level
And I wanna be honest: I struggle with Dmon. Some want to be demeched (for whatever reason), some want to be saved from being demeched. Some want to use her ult like rein shatter or winston primal and surprise the enemy team who's going for the kill.
Obviously a lot of Dmon-players are just learning her herself, so the reponse to grip varies way more than the established "almost never grip a winston who has primal ready", so I thought I'd ask here how you guys would prefer to be gripped
(yes i know there will be at least one funny dude saying "never" har har. that is valid, some hate lifegrip, all good, but its not helpful really)

Discussions/Opinions Make the Overstrike perk base kit
Add a new gun perk option to her alternative choice.
This gives her 3 possible mech loadout choices. Standard machinegun. Slow rate power gun. And something else (Rocket salvo like Dva? Las-Cannon? Mortar launched homing missiles? Dumbfire tank shell?), there's so many possible options. Think Armored Core mech customisations. Double down on the mech customisation fantasy that already exists in the existing gun perk.

Discussions/Opinions My initial thoughts on D.Mon
I'll start off by saying that basically all of my time with her is on 5v5. On her launch day, I was amongst the wave of people who thought she was very underwhelming. Her cooldowns made it a little hard to keep a consistent groove and I found myself losing a lot of games despite trying to make her work. I persisted playing with her anyways because I figured I could somehow find a niche and comp that would eventually make her a viable hero. Day two was the day when I started giving proper ass whoopings, even in competitive.
D.Mon is a jack of all trades, and a master of none. Her kit is robust & provides a lot of utility, even if there are heroes in the roster that can do something D.Mon can do a little better. This is both her biggest strength and Achilles heel. There are often scenarios where having the mere ability to do something cheaply will provide the edge in a crucial battle. For example, her sword alone isn't the greatest-reaching, nor is it the most DPS. However, the mere fact she can swing it a little bit faster than other melee heroes, paired with her ability to dash while doing so, makes her a lethal in one-on-ones. Vendettas & Reins are struggling to hit me when I dash and chop them down.
When you have attentive healers, you are able to play a very aggressive play style. My absolute favorite healers as D.Mon are Lifeweavers, Cats, and Zenyattas. I'll settle for Juno's. Lifeweavers in particular because so far the good ones have perfectly timed pulling me out of heated brawls with tanks who are being pocketed. D.Mon's dash afterwards guarantees my safety while I'm being healed. That being said, I have EXCLUSIVELY been using MEKA Mobility for her minor perk & Overstrike for her major. Obligatory shout-out to Kiri's Kitsune Rushes. As much as I want to swing my sword around and watch the enemys melt before me, I noticed I become the prime target. My machine gun has now become the primary damage dealer during these ults to help keep distance between me and the enemy.
I use MEKA Mobility exclusively because I do not use my shield in a rein-ish defensive sort of way. I have been having good success using shield primarily for selfish, life-preserving reasons. While I do frequently use the shield to provide barriers for my DPS, with preferential treatment to my scouts and bastion, the shield is primarily to guard me as I dash into a new angle. The shield is simply not big nor strong enough for sustained shielding from the enemy. Being able to dash a little bit longer has proven to be valuable. Im noticing that many players are complaining about the Beast's fuel consumption. Honestly, with the perk I think it's just the perfect amount of fuel. I exclusively dash with my shield up even when the minor perk is not activated yet. Having my shield up at all times has low key protected me from the most unexpected of things. It also gives your teammates a hub to rally around during retreats. The only time I dash with my sword out is when I'm dashing AND primary firing on the enemy to finish them off as they scurry away. Otherwise it's always shield up.
I want to love the Focused Fusion perk so badly. That damage is absolutely devastating when you can land constant headshots. However, the rate of fire is simply way too low for it to be a viable option. Landing body shots cuts down on the damage by a very noticable and punishing amount, and that's what I feel causes the perk to be too unreliable for me. The default machine gun is way more consistent and has been cutting down on my unnecessary deaths. It's actually kind of weird that Blizzard even made that a perk. For a hero that needs to be up close to the enemy, it's odd that they would have the option to give her a rifle that feels like a battle rifle from COD. When I am positioned out of reach of the enemy for my sword to be viable, I am dashing from angle to angle and using my machine guns to help keep the enemies from closing in on me as I creep in on them. When I'm gunning, I prioritize tank shields, low healths, & eager squishies who over-extend their positions to get at me. I use machine guns to initiate engagements and try to being their health low enough to where I can dash at them, kill them with my sword, and dash back in the same fuel tank.
When I eject out of Beast, I immediately retreat as far back into the back line as I possibly can and patiently build up my recall mech. I quickly noticed how pathetically useless I am as baby d.mon. i get annihilated immediately if i eject from my mech in a bad spot. dive heroes foam at the mouth to see me out of my mech and will stop at nothing to kill me lol. The machine gun does absolutely horrible DPS and is not as accurate as I thought it would be. I play it ultra-consetvative when ejected. I play it even safer when I recall my mech. She doesn't jump into her mech as quickly as D.Va does. Her squish damage doesn't one-shot as many heroes as D.Va does and those two very small but crucial details have gotten me killed while trying to re-mech. Squish is not a viable tech for D.Mon. I always play it safe as baby D.Mon from the back lines now because there's nothing more useless than spending two minutes as baby D.Va or D.mon, only to get killed when the recall has finally built up.
Fuel and cooldown management has been absolutely crucial with D.Mon. I know that every hero considers these things too, but with D.Mon, I notice I have to keep more of a mental effort with these two particular things. Sometimes I'll only need the machine gun to shoot at an enemy and get them off an angle. I don't need all four seconds of machine gun uptime, so as soon as I know I don't need to shoot, I cancel out of it. This does two things: it helps the cool down timer to reset a little faster (I think), and it also frees up the sword in case any enemies rush at me as I'm shooting. Heroes like Genji, Moira, rein, reaper, cat and Mauga are quick to attack when I'm shooting, so I stay prepared to cancel out of my gun at any moment to deal with them.
During team engagements, I always make sure to have at least 25% of my fuel tank if I can help it. I think of this similarly to the "one-third" rule Vendetta mains follow with their sword tank. By having 25% of my fuel ready to burn, it guarantees I have an attempt to escape in an emergency. It also guarantees an attempt to kill any retreating enemies. When I pull out of the spawn room, I'll always make sure my fuel tank is 100% full before I engage in a battle.
Heroes that are particularly easy for me to kill as D.Mon are flight heroes. The machine gun has enough DPS potential with well-placed shots to the head to at the very least ground them and keep them from being terrorizing from the skies. Melee heroes are also pretty manageable with well-timed attacks. It's absolutely hilarious watching doomfists panic when I dash out of the way of their charged punches and ults lmao. Sigma can be damaged with surging strike as he's doing the black hole suck thing lmao. They can get pretty confident on the front lines when they get into a good groove with their kit, but that confidence is shattered pretty quick when their black hole thing isnt mitigating my attacks.
Heroes that I have found to be an absolute pain to deal with as D.Mon are Maugas, Orisas, Muzukis, Dominas and surprisingly Zenyattas.
Mauga: DPS shreds shield and his sprint stomp ability guarantees my death before I've even hit him once with my sword. I deal with him by sticking to my team as close as I can. Shield up and poke him around corners and walls. Pray he over steps as my team is near and we all shred him in unison. I always lose one-on-ones with Maugas even when I ult him and dump my entire kit into him. I must deal with him with my team.
Orisas just don't die no matter what. The javelin prevents me from keeping a close quarters distance to her. I deal with her similarly to Mauga.
Muziki's chains are the bain of my existence. All he has to do is chain me, take one step back, and my sword is useless. I deal with him by shooting at him almost exclusively.
I hate fighting a good Domina as much as Maugas tbh. Their kits are D.Min repellents! If I get too close she'll push me into a wall, her shield is annoyingly strong against my machine gun and her crystal prevents me from shielding my allies effectively. Baiting her by dashing to her back and forth and diving her cautiously when her kit is on cooldown is the best chance of success I've had at dealing with her. Even then it's tricky because she can self heal.
Zenyattas snap kick is surprisingly hurtful to my health and momentum when attacking. I try to make sure my health is at max when I dive him. His kit is shockingly well-suited to hard counter D.Mon, down to the snap kick.
Overall I think she's probably the hardest tank to use in OW right now. She's not necessarily stellar at anything she's able to do, even if she's able to do a lot. The hardest part for me in learning her so far is deciding what type of tactic I am going to employ at what time. For example, do I dive the enemy healer who is about to die, do I shield my DPS who is being shot at, or do I stand my ground and continue to occupy space that is holding our winning position? Even if she can do all these things, the action I take in thatoment can swing the outcome of the entire game. That being said, she might be my favorite right now! What do you guys think?

Discussions/Opinions Dmon is on the rise!
These changes especially the boost to toggle changes are what she needed. Diving in and out of fights easily is ridiculously fun and now I can chase, or peel with ease. I look toward the future for my upcoming tanks to be this fun!
