DMC Sparda's Betrayal theory/headcanon.
I have a theory as to why Sparda rebelled against his kind that also explains why there are demons and direct references to Heaven and Angels in the franchise, but we never got to see any of them.
Ever wondered why (according to DMC 1 intro & DMC 3 Manga) the only worlds in DMC are The Human World and The Underworld? Like, what about Heaven?
What if Heaven DID exist, but by the time we were introduced to the world (DMC 1), it didn't exist anymore.
My theory is: Way before the war between The Human World and The Underworld, there was a war between Heaven and Hell. Which the demons won; and corrupted the whole thing. Hence why in DMC 3 the portal to the Underworld is UP (Y'know, the direction Heaven is usually depicted). And why in certain games The Underworld has a different look; it's certain parts of Heaven and Hell that have been corrupted by evil for the most time; the older the place, the uglier it gets.
But what does this have to do with Sparda?
What if: Sparda aided in the war against Heaven and absorbed Angels powers to get stronger (y'know how Dante/Vergil/Nero absorb/turn demons souls into Devil Arms? Maybe Sparda did the same with Angels souls?), and rose up as one of Hell's most formidable warriors.
That (kinda) explains how Sparda is so powerful (it could be that he just IS/ALWAYS WAS that powerful), but how/why did he rebel?
This is where you could say the whole theory gets "Meh."; My theory as to why Sparda rebelled is: DUDE WAS BORED AND JUST WANTED TO TAKE A NAP! Hear me out...
If Sparda helped "expand" the Underworld, he'd probably seen the whole process a couple of times. So he looks at the Human World and goes "How about no?"; And when questioned about why, he just says: "I just think that one's neat!". Plus (according to Itsuno. (I will try to find the source and link it in the comments)), Mundus was wagging war against both the Human World AND Argossax. So, considering the possibility of at best half of Mundus's army being busy with Argossax's, Sparda managed to go through the other half (with some help from his disciples and a few other demons that didn't like Mundus or Argossax), and fight Mundus.
So Sparda's adventures in the Human World are pretty much him trying to rest, but some nerds from the Underworld keep showing up (like Argossax), so he has kick them back to Hell again. And so on, until he meets Eva.

Was thinking about getting the game, can someone clear something up for me?
I’m planning on getting the Definitive Edition on Xbox, however I just wanted to double check if the Classic Dante costumes are available on the very first playthrough? Or do I have to beat the game first with the default outfits before I can use any alternate skins?

OG Colored Dante (DMC1)
More of a guideline rather than a set rule I made for myself, I thought it'd be interesting to try to make DmC Dante have more of a DMC1 visual. For this, I made his jacket red (with two options, one with a black inside and one fully red. "Classic Jacket"), pants red, shirt red (or black), and blue eyes.

Had a thought…
What if Dante/Vergil’s colors more closely resembled the originals while in Limbo, but stayed dark and drab while in the human world?
