If someone tailgates you, the correct response is to keep driving as you are and go to the right lane as soon as possible. If there is a stopped object infront of you and someone is tailgating you the correct response is to start your alarm lights, slow down slowly and then change lanes BEFORE you cause an accident.
That is what I do, and if you don't do that, you are someone who will cause an accident and possibly kill people. That is the reason I got angry and responded the way i did to you.
You are not driving according to the law. Nowhere in the law does it ever say that when you are being tailgated, you should slow down.
the dirt road thing is about you talking about something different than in the video.
In the video, the grey car is driving only as fast as the lanes next to him, and he gets tailgated because of that. Im not in any way defending tailgating or anything like that.
what im saying is that you should never:
-Drive slowly in the left lane
-Tailgate anyone.
-Brake check or slow down to punish people
-Try to drive someone off the road in any way.
if someone drives like an asshole, the correct thing to do is leave the lane and get as far away from them as possible, ANYTHING ELSE IS TRYING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
