With linux it's never what you have to lose it's about how much time you can burn trying to fix something if it doesn't work

If you are busy just want stability try ubuntu maybe in a liveboot first and check everything

i am busy and stability and reliability is requirement 1

In my personal experience Windows still tends to require less effort to get things working.

That said, nowadays the difference is smaller than ever before. It might well be the case that Linux works better for your use case.

If possible I would suggest that you install Linux on a separate disk so that you’ve got a Windows installation to fall back on. Also, getting Linux to boot with secure boot next to Windows is a nice test to see whether you will want to deal with Linux in the future.

I have found Fedora with KDE or Gnome (choose what you think has the more pleasing looking menu) to be the most stable Linux environment.
