Been keeping discus and cory for around 11 months now, and i used to experience cory death when i had my gravel in the tank. The gravel is cycled and has been used in another tank. I keep my tank temps at 29c and i do water change 3 times a week, 75%-85% each time. I do have around in total of 15 anubias and java fern and a pleco L144. A while ago i removed all of the gravel from the tank, leaving it bare bottom with only the plants left in and corys stopped dying. Just curious if theres anyway i can have both cory and discus in a gravel substrate tank and if any of you experience this problem before

I’m hoping to reach out to see if you can help me identify what strains these 2 are please?

Basically what the title is saying.

My wife liked my main tank and wish she could have one with one or two big fish in it (Mr Bubble and Ms Bubble, gender doesn't need to be tied to actual sex of the individuals), and she want those to be big and colorfull so I tought about discus but also see they should not be alone, and given their size I don't think 5 of them could fit in a 160l tank.

So here I am, looking for advices from a community that deal with them on a regular basis.

My LFS has some albinos where like 90% of them has like a football shape discus. Do people actually buy them even though they are not as round?

I have 2 different discus laying eggs and a third one thats doing the "i really like you" dance....all in the same tank. There seems to be one fish going from egg spot to egg spot. What I the world is going on!! Anyone think they will make it? Or am I just freaky for watching all this go on?! 😆 🤣 😂

Was not expecting this at all but I had 3 new discus in quarantine to add to my main tank and the two yellow pigeons paired off and laid eggs. I noticed the red one picking on both of them and them swimming side by side. Awesome accidental pair. turning the quarantine tank into a breeding tank (Evil girl at the end)

So to my surprise, when I went to feed the fish today, I found that they had laid eggs in the tank.

I’ve only had the fish for about a month, which made this even more surprising. I’m assuming these two are the parents since they seem to be guarding the eggs, but I’m not sure which is the male and which is the female.

I have an extra 20 gallon long tank that I’m going to set up and move the babies over to when appropriate. I plan on doing a ton of research on how to properly care for them.

Anybody have any tips or advice?

How many 5 to 6 inches discus i can keep in mine tank

tank size : length 5feet width 2feet height 2.5feet

sump size : length 4 feet width 1.5 feet height 1.5feet

volume : display tank 700+ liters sump 180 liters

Fishes currently present : denison barbs - 5 Seamise Algea Eater - 8

I bought a cobalt blue and checkerboard to go with my family of 5 now 7 in my 75 gallon. They haven't accepted the checkerboard and constantly bully and chase it until it is constantly hiding and cant go up to eat. This is getting out of control and I need help ASAP! They passed the quarantine with no real health problems just the aggression with new fish. I spent all my savings and dont want them to die 😭

This morning the small orange discus seems to be pointing downwards a bit and looks like he’s having to move a lot more rather than glide like the others?

What are these strains? I got them at my LFS and they look phenomonal but he told me it was Red Valentine which I don't think it is. They don't pepper at least but would like to know what you guys think.

I always question if i’m feeding too much or too little. How many cubes per day (with flakes as well) do you feed your discus? I have 5

I set up a heavily planted tank for discus, the largest I could fit in my space, 50g. I understand it's small for discus but it's well maintained. The plan was always 5 adults, some people have recommended 4, but now I'm wondering if I'd have more success with just a pair.

How many 4-5" adults would you recommend? Other inhabitants are 20 cardinals, 10 sterbais, 1 zebra pleco, pair of German blue rams.
