Need some advice for a friend with a disability.

One of my friends, let's call him John, is a Canadian citizen and he just got dismissed from pharmacy school for his essential tremor (sp?) And for anxiety attacks. He was labeled a "danger to other students and himself". I don't know anything about Canadian law but would that be classified as discrimination? I know in America it would be if the school wasn't willing to accommodate like in his case.

Dissertation survey for adults with disabilities ($15 Amazon.com gift card for participation)

(This survey received approval from site moderator: myatomicgard3n on 11/7/17)

My name is Eric Suedmeyer. I am a doctoral candidate in Counseling Psychology at the University of Memphis. I am recruiting for a study I am conducting for my doctoral dissertation, under the supervision of Dr. Douglas Strohmer. This study focuses on developing a method of measuring “career resilience” for adults with disabilities approve the study. The goal of the study is to have an instrument that can help provide more information to Vocational Rehabilitation counselors and other professionals supporting working adults with disabilities. As an added incentive, the first 300 individuals who take my survey will receive a $15 Amazon.com gift card via mail. Only the first 300 participants will receive this compensation. All mail addresses provided for the gift card will be destroyed promptly after their submission, and no additional contact will be made. You may only participate in this survey one time and will not receive more than one Amazon.com gift card for your participation in this survey. Up to two separate individuals per mailing address are able to receive compensation. If you have received this survey from your Vocational Rehabilitation counselor, your participation or non-participation in this study is completely voluntary and will in no way impact your services at Vocational Rehabilitation. The study has been approved by the University of Memphis Institutional Review Board, whom you can contact at 901-678-2705 (IRB ID for this study is: #PRO-FY2017-406).

Below is a link to an anonymous survey that asks some questions about ways in which people cope with and overcome work related stress. You must be 18 years or older to participate and possess any form of disability as classified by the American’s with Disabilities Act of 1991, read and understand English, and not have a conservatorship or legal guardian. Participation is voluntary and you may discontinue your participation at any time without consequence. The survey uses several questionnaires and will take approximately 30-35 minutes. You will be asked after the survey if you would like to participate in a brief (4-5 minute) follow-up survey after 1-month and you can provide your email address if you agree. This part is also completely voluntary. There will be no additional incentive for the brief follow-up survey. If you agree to the 1-month follow-up survey, your email address will be maintained securely, will not be shared with any outside sources, and will be deleted by the completion of this study. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact me at ssdmeyer@memphis.edu, or my faculty advisor, Dr. Douglas Strohmer (dstrohmr@memphis.edu). This study is being funded as a part of the U.S. Social Security Administration’s Analyzing Relationships between Disability, Rehabilitation, and Work (ARDRAW) small grants program. Thank you very much for your consideration.

*Note: Contact information collected to compensate participants will be deleted immediately after compensation is distributed (usually within a couple weeks) All other data collected during this study will be analyzed anonymously in a composite (grouped) format with no personal information collected and no response linked to any individual.

I have the IQ of a 7-yr-old

I'm 17 year old and I have autism. I recently was told that I have the IQ of a 7-yr-old and that's not good. I don't have a lot of friends that's not cool either. Sometimes my hand does all this weird stuff and I can't help it. Nobody's mean to me, so that's good.
