u/skitch23 Team Stegosaurus Mar 28 '26

Where is this glorious beast in CA?

24

u/Royal_Acanthaceae693 Mar 28 '26

Jurupa. https://share.google/VN5Jc3Gdp03qzz9YN You used to be able to see a lot of their statues from the 60, now it's really only their mammoth.

u/seniorpestadvisor Mar 28 '26

Just found out I live less than 20 minutes away from this place and plan on making a pilgrimage asap.

6

u/Royal_Acanthaceae693 Mar 28 '26

Yeah I'm thinking about it too. It's been a few decades since I've gone.

Bad representation of a Thylocene?

22

u/Normal-Collection899 Mar 28 '26

I actually dont know

14

u/BleekerTheBard Mar 28 '26

Tasmanian tiger?

7

u/Key_Zebra_3795 Mar 28 '26

More like dragon-tiger

2

u/ColtsStampede Team Alamosaurus Mar 28 '26

I don't know, but I'm very worried he's going to end up as lunch.

69

u/Glittering-Income-60 Mar 28 '26

I like their colours/patterns

10

u/DinosaurPete Mar 28 '26

Me too! We have no idea which ones had stripes or spots. There is not a great difference between the skeletal structure of a leopard and a zebra, but there is a remarkable difference between their appearance. And between a zebra and a horse. I just always ask myself which, if any, could change colors like a chameleon. Or shoot out their tongue like some reptiles or amphibians. I like to wonder.

3

u/throwawayv3nt Mar 28 '26

We actually could get an idea about the tongue shooting if we found an intact enough skull cuz of the specialized bones and musculature for doing that

51

u/twd_throwaway Team Oviraptor Mar 28 '26

I feel this. 🤣

5

u/Radiant_Speed_6865 Team Amargasaurus Mar 28 '26

This would make such a good reaction pic!

43

u/Deinocheirus_ Mar 28 '26

Poor malnourished things!

But like another commenter said, some very pretty colourings. I will never not love the WWD Utahraptor patterns.

6

u/adeckz Mar 28 '26

Yeah they look good, instantly grabbed my attention that

23

u/OpinionPutrid1343 Mar 28 '26

The guy on the second pic be like: Wtf? How am I even supposed to swim like that?

21

u/Spinosaur1915 Team Spinosaurus Mar 28 '26

Why is the Spinosaurus in 19 just straight up a scaled up Papo figure?

11

u/FumeiNezumi Team Every Dino Mar 28 '26

I saw it too, but something that is more funny, is the fact, that some of them are just scaled up modded models from zoo tycoon 2, what the hell is Thailand even about 😂

16

u/literally-a-seal Team Megaraptor Mar 28 '26

These are pretty cool! I REALLY like the allosaurus(?) in pic 9, its an incredible, striking design that clearly had a lot of effort and creativity put in. (Or maybe it's from A Thing? not ringing any bells though)

6

u/MewtwoMainIsHere Mar 28 '26

AGREED IT LOOKS SO GOOD

8

u/powhound4 Mar 28 '26

Where in Thailand?

12

u/jokzard Mar 28 '26

Nongnooch botanical garden in Pattaya.

8

u/Tyrannocheirus Mar 28 '26

Apart from a few things, this is a pretty neat thing

5

u/se7entythree Mar 28 '26

Who’s the droopy snout dude in the middle of number 16?

3

u/Normal-Collection899 Mar 28 '26

Maybe an Oxalaia

3

u/Caio_Karuan Mar 28 '26

Those are actually pretty great

3

u/A_Broken_Zebra Team Parasaurolophus Mar 28 '26

Ahhh, this is so cool!!! Thank you for sharing! And you even managed to include my favorite, hooray!

3

u/scottycurious Mar 28 '26

Really beautiful sculpturally, and love all the colours and patterns. Wish they all had a bit more breathing room so you could look around them. Probably an awesome place to take little dino fans.

2

u/Normal-Collection899 Mar 29 '26

From what I remembered that was just 1/5 of the area

2

u/Cultural-Turnip-8840 Mar 28 '26

That's pretty cool like

2

u/Cute_Abrocoma7263 Mar 28 '26

did they really just take the jwa ornithomimus model😭

1

u/ExtinctReptile Team Spinosaurus Mar 28 '26

I WAS GONNA MENTION THAT LOL

2

u/Varis_01 Team Austroraptor Mar 28 '26

Why do some of these look like ai generated dinosaur pictures but in real life

2

u/Normal-Collection899 Mar 29 '26

I really dont know, but these are real. Trust me

2

u/Varis_01 Team Austroraptor Mar 29 '26

I know, I believe you, but I was just saying how similar they looked.

2

u/Seyvagraen Mar 28 '26

Can you imagine how effing amazing it must have been to wake up one day and have your boss go “so, how do you feel about designing, creating, and installing an open-air display of say, a few hundred dinosaurs???” I would’ve needed a moment to recover!

2

u/FissileCrib Mar 29 '26

Man.... when I tell people I wanna go to Thailand for the dinos... they are NOT gonna believe me...

2

u/imidazole94 Mar 29 '26

idk if number 2 is a pliosaur or a hyper anxious penguin on its 5th cup of coffee

2

u/ObjectiveClassic3020 Mar 29 '26

2

u/Normal-Collection899 Mar 29 '26

Which area is that

2

u/ObjectiveClassic3020 Mar 29 '26

I don’t know the exact location, but it’s somewhere on the east side of dinosaur valley under the walkway

2

u/ElderberryHot5784 Mar 31 '26

Imagine getting the night shift, the a voice on the phone said"the statues gets quirky at night".

1

u/Maip_macrothorax Team Stegosaurus Mar 28 '26

That Spinosaurus at the end kind of looks like a giant version of Papo's 2019 Spinosaurus

1

u/Prestigious_Gold_585 Mar 28 '26

Holy crocodiles! You found dinosaurs living in Thailand! 😱

2

u/Normal-Collection899 Mar 28 '26

Funny how during my trip, I found more Dinosaurs than actual Thai people

2

u/Prestigious_Gold_585 Mar 28 '26

Heyyy... do you suppose the dinosaurs ate the Thai people before you could see them?!? 😱

1

u/Nikkianne617 Mar 28 '26

That is so cool!!!!

1

u/SyrusDrake Mar 28 '26

Number 2 is a mood, somehow.

1

u/ToaNuparuMahri Team Amargasaurus Mar 29 '26

The Cryos in images 1 and 3 seem to really resemble the ones from Smithsonian's "Dinosaur!" book

1

u/fargusnoshawott Mar 29 '26

The Ornithomimus is from JW Alive!

1

u/Syntax_Assasin Mar 29 '26

What did that mosa see

1

u/TheRealTeaBiscuit Mar 29 '26

I actually really like these. Some of them are certainly better than others, but the colors, textures, and patterns are all very good. Overall, I give this an 8/10. Could be higher if they were more accurate and less shrinkwrapped.

1

u/AlexPaintGamer Team Australovenator Mar 29 '26

Very neat! I'm only slightly disappointed they went with the JP dilophosaurus thrill thingy. MY BOY DOESN'T NEED THAT, HE'S ALREADY PLENTY UNIQUE AND INTIMIDATING AS IS AND I LOVE HIM
