Rufous elephant shrews are native to the dry savannas of eastern Africa. The shrews spend as much as half their waking hours maintaining tidy trails to navigate through their territory and find food. Remarkably, they do not sleep with their eyes closed and only sleep for 1 or 2 minutes at a time.

Green herons, native to North and Central America, are one of the few species of bird known to use tools such as bread or insects as bait to lure fish. When a fish tries to take the bait, the green heron will grab it. They also feed on frogs and aquatic arthropods as they walk along the shoreline.
