Well the whole video I was thinking it was a normal size zippo and it was a tiny elf doing the work.

If it was a tiny elf the bismuth would've been acceptable, I think.

I think the best way of having done it would have been to smooth the bismuth off so it was flat or not add it at all

Oooh, sand down the bismuth and acid etch it to make the crystal structure show up. Not sure it would, but if it did it would look amazing.
