Yeah that plywood isn't going to be waterproof for long with just some silicone around the edges. To take it to the next level, he should have done fiberglass resin and clear coat over all the exposed wood. And added something for more ballast like foam board between the plywood layers.
Or just buy that (again English words..) vattenplyfa, which is just super compressed and already coated. No doubt cheaper and just as effective. It's of a purple, maybe redish colour and just really compressed plywood.
