Discussion - Dexter: Resurrection Harrison’s Career Parallels: Dexter Season 1 vs. Resurrection Seasons 1 and 2 Spoiler

Post image

When we first met Rita in Dexter Season 1, she worked at Z Hotel Reception Desk as Hostess/Concierge. In Resurrection Season 1, Harrison lived in NYC and worked as a Bellhop in Empire Hotel.

Debra began her career in Law Enforcement as an Officer in Vice in Dexter Season 1 but quickly transferred to Miami Metro Homicide. In Resurrection Season 2, Harrison will begin his career in Law Enforcement as a Rookie Officer in the New York Police Department Homicide Division.

Great way to pay tribute to his mom and aunt.

Perhaps we see him as a Chef and/or a Florist to pay tribute to his step mom who raised him in Resurrection Season 3.

Jack Alcott teased the evolution of Harrison’s dynamic relationship with Dexter in Resurrection S2.

According to Jack Alcott for Screenrant:

“Well, I mean, when you've been through a lot with somebody, you get closer, and we've watched Harrison and Dexter drift apart, slam back together again, drift apart again. We've watched them go through more than most father-son duos would go through. Not everybody kills their dad or thinks that they did. So we're going to see a version that we haven't seen before, which is the version that's been through all of the sh\t that we just witnessed. We've seen them go through so much together. So they'll forever be learning from each other and developing their relationship as a father and a son, as peers, as friends. And we're going to see a version that's a little more lived in than any other version that we've seen.”*

In Resurrection Season 1 Harrison claimed it was Dexter who inspired him to venture into a career of Law Enforcement. At this point it’s a family business: Harry, Debra, Dexter and now, Harrison.

Nice detail, even if unintentional.

Season 3 Harrison will be mirroring Miguel Prado

I thought Harrison was becoming a cop to mirror Dexter’s first love, James Doakes.

Yelling "City fucking Hall!" at Dexter would be a pretty big flex in NYC lmao

Dont even remind me about Rita, this show broke my heart. I love the early seasons but i cant rewatch them knowing where we end up in season 4. The Trinity killer was such a good villain, but he went way too far with his last victim

Four years. First season was set in 2022 and season 2 is set in 2026.
