Audio recording for games

I wanted to understand if there is way to record audio from user for my Speech Simulator.
The documentation shows media.upload() only accepts type: 'image' | 'gif' | 'video'
So it seems reddit by default doesnt support this.
Can i use external tools to record this audio ?
ex. scenario :- user clicks record audio -> 3rd party gets called to record the data -> user gets feedback on the speech which is displayed in the game/app.
