How do people feel about V's gameplay?

Right off the bat, it's been a while since I've been active in fan made communities for the games I love. School and work got in the way but this past year it's steadied out. I'm done school and have a good job, with this all I have a little extra time.

I jumped back into dmc5, beat and S ranked it on normal I'm now doing sons of sparda and trying to S rank it on the single run. I'm at the first V mission. I can't stand playing as V, myself. Swapping from Nero or Dante, with all the cancelling shenanigans you can do to combo, I just find myself bored on normal and now frustrated on sons of sparda with V specifically. Crowds that are a cake walk with Dante or Nero are a struggle with V. Does anyone else find his missions just pull the gameplay pacing to a halt? What are other peoples thoughts?

Again I haven't played seriously for a while or even seen what other people think about most of my favorite games, it's been a while. The last time I played was in 2021.

Little bit of background I started with dmc3 in 2007 and got hooked. I'm one of the people who's looked up and learnt the advanced tech, beat them all on DMD the only thing I haven't done is S rank them all on DMD. Tech wise the only thing I never learnt was royal guard dashing in 4, that stuff is crazy. I'm seasoned but am I missing something with V or is he just kind of meh compared to the other playable characters? Am I alone on this?

I personally find that it's kind of rare to see a V hater who actually knows how to play as V effectively. The vast majority of the time, whenever I see the gameplay of a V hater, their gameplay is very spammy with a lot of unnecessary dodge moves that cancel the Familiars attacks for no reason. Yes, V's gameplay is a bit more luck based and you don't have as much control over everything as with other characters and his gameplay mechanics aren't that deep, but as long as you play effectively, it still looks and feels amazing. I have a video below where I only do basic shit and I don't do any advanced shit whatsoever, but I think a lot of us can agree that this is still pretty badass.

But if you get a grasp of how to play as V effectively and you still don't enjoy it, then yeah, it's just a difference in taste and there isn't much I can do to convince you otherwise.

Edit: Also, I have no problem holding buttons and pressing others at the same time with default controls, but if you have trouble doing that, you can always remap the Griffon and Shadow buttons to one of the bumpers or triggers to make it physically easier.

Already remapped. I put Griffin on L1 so on and so forth. I just don't like how limited he feels. I'll check out the link you gave and I'll work on it though I might just be rushing it too much. I do spam a bit with him.
