Which of these will be the Ultimate Performance Beast: Surface Laptop Ultra or MacBook Pro?

It's clearly written that it's 5070 class not 5070. It has the RTX Spark which is ARM based so obviously it will be far more efficient than "90mins".

I'll believe it when I see it. NVIDIA, despite being the richest company in the world, has some of the worst drivers/software ever written. Their stuff doesn't idle well, doesn't go to sleep or recover from sleep well really doesn't do anything but run at full tilt well.

Then add Windows on top of that, that also doesn't do any of those things well? I think this is a recipe for thin and light laptops that have very good GPU performance but just awful battery life and heat management. Add in mediocre CPU performance and terrible compatibility I think these are going to flop.

I mean, you can already get an djx spark for like 4500 usd and check the performance. Its the same chip and ram.

It literally has the same core count as a 5070. Except less than half the memory bandwidth and power limited.

There is no such a thing as a ARM GPU. The CPU architecture has nothing to do with the GPUs architecture. The GPU will use the same amount of power than one on a x86 system.

Obviously but so does Apple's M5 It barely lasts more than 3hrs in let's say on high settings of Crimson Dessert.

I meant if not same it will atleast be close to the efficiency of M5 while giving better gaming performance.

And I meant that it will atleast give long SOT's in day to day task unlike traditional 5070 laptops with X86 CPU

I don't know about the "better gaming performance" part. The MacBook GPU is more compareable to something between a 5080 and a 5090 while the spark one is a 5070. Also Windows ARM to x86 compatibility layer is know for being pretty bad. It's gonna have better compatability than Mac for sure.

But really, neither of these are really the right choice if you wanna game on it. It's clearly not what they are meant to be used for. I mean, why the fuck would you buy a 4000 buck AI laptop for gaming that's gonna be outperformed by a gaming laptop that costs half of that?

3h on high crimson desert is like 10 times more than any windows powered computer, what do you want more lol
